Already have the Mass Effect 3 Pre-Order ready to go. It'll be on my Xbox, but I'm glad PS3 owners will be able to enjoy the awesomeness of the game.

That is, if you guys aren't too busy playing Uncharted 3! Can't wait for that game!

I am a bit confused. I played the DEMO of this game on PS3. And while I heard so many great things about this game I am surprised this is actually #1. Graphics are ok, nothing spectacular. Game play is simple and not to much out of ordinary. It used Unreal Engine which is nice but nothing outrageous. Some of the puzzles were extremely easy and so repetitive that after doing 4 of them in a row I got bored.

I know there must be something I am missing or possibly DEMO did not gave us the Best experience of that game. But if demos is exactly what I am going to get if I buy this game then I will have to pass.

Joystiq please give us a comprahensive review and explain what make this game so awesome. By the way voice acting and player movement was not amazing either. I just don't see it.

Maybe all this is because I am comparing this game to Uncharted 2 but to be honest every review I read on XBOX 360 says that this game is THE BOMB so what am I missing?

It's a 40 hour RPG, I can't imagine how a demo is going to give a good sample of the game beyond some of its combat mechanics. It's popularity is largely because of the sum of its parts, and the experience of a complete playthrough, plus the tons of Internet memes it spawned.

God I hate you ps3 fanboys. You all shitted on ME2 earlier this year and now that its coming to your console you cream your pants all over it.

Well screw you and screw Bioware. As a loyal 360 owner/fanboy I bought both ME games for the 360 but I will NOT be buying Mass Effect 3.

While I agree ME2 was game of the year I am completely upset that this game and the next are going to be on ps3. I'm pissed at MS for allowing it to happen and I'm extremely pissed at Bioware for making this move as well.

You ps3 people don't deserve a game of this magnitude. The only solace I find is that you will NEVER HAVE MASS EFFECT 1. PERIOD. YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO PLAY ME1 on the playfail 3.

So suck on that phone fanboys.

I haven't played the demo so I can't reference it, but a few things for you:

*Play ME1. Absolutely required to get the full experience of ME2, interactive comic nonwithstanding. If you don't have a 360 pick it up on PC.

*The game is simply awesome. Great story, characters, pacing and battle mechanics. My first and second playthorughs, Paragon/Vanguard then Renegade/Adept (on Insanity) were completely different gameplay experiences. Going to do a third on the PS3. The combat is so well done that at it's best you can 'feel' the turn based RPG elements through the real time combat if that makes sense.

*Excellent DLC - Overlord and Lair of the Shadow Broker most notably, the latter especially so if Liara was your love interest in ME1

The game is fully deserving of all its' accolades - I didn't even mind the mining for minerals although I could see people having an issue with that (I actually really liked the change of pace) - I can't imagine a demo doing justice to it at all. Play them both ASAP.

@melao I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering where Starcraft 2 is. Sure, I can understand it not being in the top 10, RTSs aren't everyone's cup of tea. But I don't even think I've seen it in the "best of the rest" categories.

Their even more likely not to contain a game that isn't everyone's cup of tea.

I'm still upset Steven King Jerk-A-Tron and Grand Theft Carriage made the list. There were far to many other deserving titles. Just because Alan Wake was delayed over and over doesn't mean it didn't disappointed. Sure I liked the game but it was in no way top 10 material. I'll allow Red Dead Redemption (even though it wasn't Red Dead, but GTA Wild West) because I know everyone has a hard-on for Rockstar.

I would have liked to see some non-multimillion dollar games make the upper 5 like Amnesia: The Dark Descent (most overlooked game of 2010), 3D Dot Game Heroes, Persona 3 Portable, Vanquish, Bayonetta, Pac-Man DX (probably the single best arcade game this year), Kirby's Epic Yarn, Enslaved, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Dragon Quest IX, Just Cause 2, Monster Hunter Tri, hell the list goes on and on of superb titles.

Thankfully many of them were honored in the best of the rest posts.

I'm not saying they're bad games. They are both fantastic titles. But they are almost the same game with a few features that were added in 2.

Watched both of those trailers all the way through, and the SMG2 trailer actually does a great job showing the differences between the two games.

Did you watch them? I think they disprove your point more than prove it. All sequels share some similarities.

...On top of that, the SMG2 trailer plainly demonstrates how they took the ideas from the first game and REALLY fleshed them out into a full experience. Much like ME2.

I have both games & have played them enough to know their similarities & differences. While the new features add a bit more taste to the game in SMG2, the similarities overshadow the differences in my book. I loved SMG1 & 2 & like I said before, they are both fantastic games, but they are fantastic for the same reasons to me. It's one of those things I would have to show someone than try to prove with words.

I too own and enjoy both, and I'd agree that SMG2 is not a "revolutionary" sequel. But at the same time, I think it's a bigger departure than you give it credit for.

I guess my beef with your comment was that (implicitly) you support the ME2 win, yet you deem SMG2 "almost the same game" as the first. To me both sequels (Mass Effect 2 and Galaxy 2) represent a similar step up from their predecessors, so your comment seemed hypocritical. I imagine you disagree (certainly, such an idea is up to interpretation), but there you go.
