Indeed. 1 vs. 100 on Xbox Live was awesome and is greatly missed.

I agree. But I pretty much agree with all of Dave's picks. I think I've finally found the Joystiq writer with tastes very similar to my own.

Civ V, i have been waiting to see this. I will admit that i am not a "hardcore:" civ player, but i knew there was a lot more to offer when i played Civ Rev. and this is it.

Losing 1 vs. 100 was a major shame. Between all the god awful advertising on XBL and the fact that the subscription fee went up, I feel like they should continue this. I would pay a one time $15-20.00 fee to play this game. With Kinnect and the family push I cannot help but feel they failed hard in cross promoting this game. Adding Kinnect support and advertising it as a free family game would have seemingly made sense. It sure is better than all the crap that launched with the Kinnect.

I agree, a foolish decision on their part. And it's "Kinect", with one 'n'. Sorry - someone had to Corect you. Wait...

I always thought this game costed money or was invite-only, I had no idea how this worked because they sucked so bad at advertising it.

yep Starcraft 2 and Civ 5 not being in the top 10 pretty much shows how joystiq views pc gaming.

You do know that they're doing it per person on Jostiq right? This isn't Joystiq's (As a whole) list. Just David Hinkle's

I think that's his point. It wasn't in the top 10, only in the 'other' games Dave Hinkle liked this year that weren't in the top 10

@Cleric Get over it, you're a PC Gamer, not a Christian in ancient Rome. Nobody's trying to sling you up on a cross you big baby. SC2 not being on the list doesn't say anything about how joystiq views PC gaming, it just shows how they viewed......Starcraft 2

@mrmobius

If I'm not mistaken, Mass Effect 2 was a PC title as well & the better version was the PC version at that. Don't think Joystiq has anything against PC games. It's just the thing with PC games is that you'd have to start out as a PC gamer to like most of the PC games. Same with consoles. This generation, more & more people are just buying consoles since upgrading PC's carry a very hefty price to play games in HD as intended.

Dude, You posted your Top #10 here: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/31/wrup-your-best-of-2010/

and didn't include either game. What exactly is your point here? I mean besides trying to stir up trouble?

Well I never played 1 vs 100 (see: not in th USA), but I really wanted to as it just seemed like so much fun XD

I'm glad someone at Joystiq mentioned Starcraft 2 (and Civ V!) I was wondering if it would even happen.

@gaboose It was available in Europe as well. I remember playing both the US & EU version when it was still around.

Canadians had the US version.

1 vs. 100 was good, but I think that it really ran its course. The Primetime Live framework has promise, and it's a proven property-- how many people "tuned in" for the Penny Arcade episodes?-- so instead of abandoning it, they really need to think about expanding it. Put up a partnership with Game Show Network and bring back some classic game shows for Achievements and a few bucks' points here and there, and you can glue some eyeballs to some ads.

Or... hey, how about this: use the framework to host the world's biggest World Poker Tour satellite qualifier!

If they decide to make another 'Live game show', I hope they keep Chris Cashman as a host. He did a great job in 1vs100, and I remember his father (Pat) from "Almost Live!". That was a great show.

BlazBlue was a real fighter. All 2D games should be required by law to contain sprites. These bastardized 3D games on 2D planes are ruining the art!

It's a shame about 1 vs 100. Even the non-live multiplayer shows were fun. It's too bad it went away. And whether or not it had prizes, I simply enjoyed the trivia challenge.

My friends and I loved playing 1 vs. 100 every week.

It's a shame that it's gone. It will be missed.

Hopefully You Don't Know Jack will finally fill that giant quiz game void upon it's release.
