Former Midway background artist Brian Beppu was at one point drawing up concepts for a PlayStation 2-era game named Day to Night. As the title suggests, Day to Night looks like it was going to be some type of zombie game -- as seen in the concept panels above, a hobbled humanoid approaches a gentleman who appears to be a cowboy in snowy woods. A handful of environments are also on display, varying from a cheap roadside motel to a graveyard overtaken by jungle brush.
Given the fact that this art is now nearly a decade old, Day to Night likely lost its shot at becoming a finished product before Midway's less than successful final years. Little else is known about the title, in fact, so feel free to shoot us a tip if you know more.

Its a shame to see game concepts that break away from the mold never leave the launch pad. They just sit there on the concept board alone. Getting blown by a gust of wind and flaps against the leg of a gamer who looks of it and only dreams of what it could have been.

I wonder how many would-be classics we missed out on, because they never came to be.

Its also a shame to see great concept art then see how crappy the finished product looks in comparison. Oh well guess we'll never know eh
Oh and did you name your dinky doo "concept art" cause I'm not sure what else would be flapping against your leg

I can't believe someone has been paid to draw like that.

It's CONCEPT art, not box art, not magazine ad art, it's art to show concepts of the game.
Don't look at any behind the scenes videos on movies. You might be shocked when you see the storyboards are usually black and white sketches, sometimes with stick figures.

The comic panels and the city reminds me of Max Payne. If you combined the narrative styling of Max Payne with the post-apocalypse, perhaps about a broken man trying to make it alone, that would be amazing.
What's with all these now-defunct Midway leaks? They really should have planned their shit better, these 3 or so leaks have been very interesting so far... you know... from the single art asset.

Maybe this is why Midway went under?
Misappropriation of funds? Holy crap there's a lot of concept art surfacing.
I understand, out of a hundred ideas one might be made into a game.
I'm beginning to think that maybe Midway had their hands a little too full. Too many full-fledged projects at once, possibly. I don't know, I'm not an expert. I just know that it sucks that there's so many great ideas for games and stories, yet because of time constraints or money, no fruit on the tree.
