I love the art style. Reminds me a little of LBP.

I'll be picking this one up eventually (right now I've got too many games I never bought I need to catch up on)

Having ilo and milo as unlockable 'pets' for my Avatar is alone worth it. It doesn't hurt that the game's quite a bit of fun.

I really don't want to go out to buy an Xbox just for one game. But these cuties might push me over the edge.

PS3 port? No? Please??

Find it hard to believe that only ONE Xbox-exclusive game appeals to you.

Let me help:

Shadow Complex, LIMBO, Hydro Thunder & Monday Night Combat.

Enough reasons?

All the games I've been interested in have either gone to PC as well or at somepoint, PS3. Minus Fable 2.

I will admit to being a tad ignorant to what lies on Live though.

But I really do not want to validate purchasing a new system. My wallet is already angry at me enough after the Steam holiday sale this past week.

Would you prefer me to say I can't validate the purchase at the moment? Not sure what you're trying to get at. But...do what you must.

@AmanteDuck Let me put it this way: If you don't own any of the three systems, you are an idiot. All consoles have great exclusive games and those who say otherwise are moronic fanboys that want to validate their expensive purchase.

However, if you have a valid reason to not get a system (money is tight, etc.), it's not like these games are going to disappear. You will be able to play them in a year or two.

in all honesty, there's really not that big of a reason to own both consoles...i've found that all of my favorite titles this generation are pretty much multi-platform anyway. of course there are the occasional exclusives that make you really want to go the other way, but those are few and far between...like when a new uncharted or halo comes out.

@AmanteDuck I never understand why comments like these are downvoted out of existence. Not every console exclusive speaks to every person but that doesnt mean you're immune to some cross-console lust every once in a while. Hell, I wanted Snatcher on Sega CD but I'm hardly a Nintendo fanboy for secretly wishing I could play it on my SNES because I was poor.

@RickGhastly

Thank you Rick. People seem to just think that because you don't want the system for some games you're a fanboy. Who knows. My comment was really meant to mean that I hope this game isn't the one to push me over the edge into buying an Xbox because I've been debating on getting one for some time now. There are more and more indie games coming out that are appealing to me but I need to actually validate the purchase considering I already have a PS3 and PC that run most everything I want to play.

If anything I was praising ilomilo's ability to speak to me enough that I'm considering the purchase. Unfortunately this is the internet and people will find something to jump on you about. I could careless to be honest. But I'm glad someone gets it. I hope your Sega CD lust worked itself out.

No it's the same for me. I've had an Xbox since launch but none of its exclusive appeal to me. I bought Rock band for it because it was cheaper on the Xbox than PS3.

Xbox exclusives seem to be either aimed at frat boys or pompous indy gamers.

It's the same title and characters and basic gameplay as the WP7 game, but there are "lots of new levels and puzzles to explore and solve." as well as two player co-op and the retro 2D game "ilomilo shuffle" ... according to the ad on the WP7 game.

So, it's the same game ... but bigger.

Yeah, I caved and moved over to AT&T to get a WP7 at the end of December after finding a deal on Amazon Wireless for a free Samsung Focus and waived activation fee with a new 2 year deal. I tried justifying signing a contract with the devil for about $250... for better or worse. Main reason I got it for was the Zune Pass, but the Live games so far (like this one) are decent.

It's the easiest 200 achievement points you'll ever get on Windows Phone 7 (I finished in about 2 days). I wondered what it would be on like 360.

@ShadowAsura
The two player mode is local, not splitscreen. Because you swap between characters there's no need for split screening. One person plays as ilo, the other as milo, and when one gets to a point they can go no further, you swap to the other player.

That is one player controling two charectars.

Two player is one player controlling each without swapping.

And I don't know if there is split screen or not.

(Only had to click the reply button 3 times before it actually went into "reply mode")

Please play the game. I already answered the question.

1. Local Multi
2. No Splitscreen

One player controls ilo with 1 controller, the 2nd controls milo with the 2nd controller. It works in an identical fashion as the single player except you now have two controllers and whoever is in control has to switch control over to the other character.

I picked up the trial version of the game when Joystiq revealed the super secret site for getting the code. My daughter and I play it frequently, and I ended up purchasing it a few weeks ago. It's hands down one of the coolest games to ever come out for XBLA.

The atmosphere and little nuances really make the game. Also, brilliant idea Ludwig! I'd never thought about having one of them turn the opposite direction right before they meat up.

I agree with the review, but the score confuses me. I don't see a single bad word written in the review but it gets a 4/5?

I didn't find much to complain it in the game, as you noted, but I probably wouldn't recommend it wholeheartedly to someone who didn't at least enjoy puzzle games.

Could get in to the whole "Surely that means no game should ever get 5" (Especially in a genre such as this) thing, but this isn't really the time.
I just think that the whole package of presentation, accessibility but also cleverness of puzzles means it would at least get a 4 1/2.
