I just want to play this game without worrying of a freeze/hard crash/wtf just happened every 20 to 30 minutes.

*Still* needs another patch....badly....really badly....(Hint: Don't finish Wheel of Fortune/I put a Spell on you; quests....they are still very very broken.)

Looks like the 20% discount works on DC Universe Online preorders as well. Nice.

In retrospect; New Vegas was a bit disappointing compared to Fallout 3 wasn't it? A quality game in it's own right of course, but ultimately just more of the same and lacking the "special moments" of F3.

Kinda like the Bioshock 2 of Fallouts...

@Pure Black World Tendency

I think the opposite - in retrospect Fallout 3 felt disappointing compared to New Vegas.

An opinion which is the complete opposite of my own?! Well this I will not tolerate, sir. We shall meet at noon for a duel.

I kind of agree. In a lot of ways New Vegas is better: factions, quests, stories, weapon mods, characters, companions, etc

But the wasteland feels a lot emptier than 3. Remember when you first made it to the down town in 3? There were super mutants everywhere. It was awesome!

In New Vegas I just kind of freely walk around without much happening. It really needed more enemy encounters out in the wastelands. Asides from that through, New Vegas is really good.

I think part of that is the horribly broken and aging Gamebryo engine. I'm playing through New Vegas for the first time right now, and I'm having a really hard time getting into it.

After sinking a couple hundred hours into both Oblivion and Fallout 3 - and greatly enjoying both - this.. it just looks ugly. It breaks all the time. The enemy AI is weird as Hell. The difficulty in combat is super out of whack (I'm looking at you, insanely hard to kill wasp things). I don't know.. I kind of feel like New Vegas is a bit of a disappointment for me.

Not to say there isn't a lot to like about it. The story seems cool, and I do like the setting. The moral choices are less black and white, which I definitely think is cool.

It would just be nice if I didn't want to vomit every time I looked at a grostesquely randomized NPC. Or if I didn't have to constantly reset my game, losing progress, because I clip out and fall through the side of a building, into some nowhere abyss.

Thanks, Obsidian, you done did it again.

@wcarnation I have to agree. FO3 had A story line, sure you could play it several different way, but it was still two sides of a story. FONV has many different stories with the different factions fighting for the outcome of NV. I think it adds to replay ability more than FO3. However at the same time FONV feels very similar to FO3 and could for all intents and purposes be an expansion pack in the PC realm. However with the advent of DLC you get that now and not true expansion packs.

Don't buy Fallout: New Vegas unless you want to use a wiki for each quest in order to avoid quest breaking bugs. Fix my game Obsidian/Bethesda!

I played 75 hours of Vegas and just accepted some of the quest bugs. Now my main story quest is broken because I can't dismiss the invisible ED-E robot that's following me around. Can't say I didn't get my money's worth, but I can't complete the game the way I would like to finish it. Boycotting it until they fix the problem. And in case you're wondering, I have visited Vault 22 like 22 times.

I restarted the 2nd playthrough over that damn vanishing bot....I just ignore it entirely now >:( was about 20 hours in, and entered the Mayors house in Nipton...fought a few pooches...looked around...was gone...went outside, was gone, auto traveled...was gone, cursed the sky...was still gone...checked my saves....oops only one...screw it..redo.

Third playthrough now and it hard crashes almost repeatedly around Vegas...not putting the system through that, shelved until fixed, or sold if not..

I started playing on PS3 after the "comprehensive patch". I'm level 21, not sure how many hours, but well over 25.

The bugs/glitches aren't that bad. I've scene a few scripting problems, a little texture pop in, and one crash. I haven't had any game or quest breaking bugs *knocks on wood*.

Honestly, I think I had more issues with 3. 3 froze every 5 hours or so like clockwork.
