it would be great if we could gamble MS points but i doubt they'll ever do that other wise it would have been an instant buy

@PipBoyV3 I think you misunderstood what sifer2400 was saying. He wished that we could gamble with MS points. If so, then he would of thought about buying this when it comes out

As for price, Tynes says that "all of the XBLA games we're doing these days are 10 or 15 bucks, and we expect we'll be in that range."

Not free. $10 - $15

I agree that would be awesome, the problem is that since you have to pay for points in the first place, you'd pretty much be gambling with chips representing real money, which is illegal in many states.

Since it's not free I have 0 interest in this game. I don't feel like paying $10 for another poker game that I'll play for probably a week. Pass.
And here I thought it was our replacement for 1 vs 100.

i came here to say the exact same thing, how sweet would it be if you could bet MS Points... i generally hate poker games (except on iOS) because you don't really win anything. If i bust my as$ gambling something i'd like to see a return of something

guess this is just targeted to Jr's.. which is weird cause gambling isn't really a game (somewhat)

I was in the Beta this is a very fun game I like it actually better than 1 vs 100 but i know some people won't especially who played with their family because anyone could participate in 1 vs 100.

I will buy this though, missed out on the Texas Hold'em wave a while back. I also need to school a few people on my list.

Yea I got that game free too... sucks major ass.

I love poker so I'm interested in this. Sad to see that it's not free like 1 vs 100 but if it's good and if they start giving out real prizes (besides avatar awards) I might go for it.

Technically 1 vs 100 was a beta.
But it would be great if this was free too.
I'll pay 800 points so long as there are people playing it.

How is XP an indication of skill if you get XP for just having friends play and seeing their updates? Seems like money would be the best indication.

@lippenhoffer

Lots of XP means you win a lot, regardless of the money at stake.

A lot of money might mean you win a lot, but also might mean you got really lucky once.

And let's say you get really unlucky once, and lose all your money. That doesn't necessarily mean you're a bad player, your XP won't change as much so people know you're still a good player who just got unlucky.

Makes sense to me.

Perhaps the XP indicates you've played this game a lot, thus--lots of experience.....?

I think surely if XP was supposed to represent the experience someone has in a game they'd rename it EP

The idea of these games in a massively multiplayer environment always enchanted me, and I think things like Red Dead Redemption's multiplayer kind of captured that feel. I'll surely keep my eye on this one.

That being said, I'm worried that, say, my friends and I have this game, and that whenever I get online, and they're playing this, they'll continuously pester me with messages like "Dude get on poker i need some xp". Can anyone else see that happening?

I'm looking forward to this game. I'm curious if they would allow friends to play in the same table cuz there could be some cheating issues (like my friends telling me their cards and vice versa, ganging up on everyone else at the table, etc.).

Pass. And wtf does "Free with purchase" mean? That's marketing doublespeak if I ever heard it.

Toss in Shannon Elizabeth though and you've got my $10-15.

@onan - That means that you won't have to pay extra to take part in the scheduled games. It's poor wording but not complicated.

I was really excited about this game until I read it wasn't free.
Thought this was a replacement or follow up to 1vs100 ?

Anyone else only play 1vs100 because it was fun and free ?

@Silent Killer01 - I played 1 vs 100 because it was fun an innovative. The fact that it was free was a bonus. I would've paid $10 or $15 for it.

Will this be a spritual successor to 1v100 in the same sense that no one in Australia/New Zealand can play it? Coz that'd be awesome

As a NZ'er, I am slightly curious - can I ask why you think it would be "awesome" for Aussies and Kiwis to be exempt from playing this? Or were you merely being sarcastic?

I don't think this is a successor to 1 vs. 100 more than it is just another arcade game with similar features. 1 vs. 100 was a pick up & play game for everybody & will always be one of a kind. This is a game where you would have to have a bit of know how in order to play. If they can make another game show like it for free & easy to play just like 1 vs. 100 was, then they will have a successor on their hands.

In my opinon the only way this can really work is if there is some downside to losing. Having people go all in constantly is what destroys no-money online poker.
