@piratenab D'oh! I didn't even think about that. I just saw Twilight Town crawling with Shadows. Hopefully this one is more like Birth By Sleep and less like 358/2 Days.

The racing games reminded me of some bad iphone titles. That's certainly a genre that is not meant for handheld gaming..

@Arkard Racing games play fine on handhelds that have physical controls. I spent more time playing Ridge Racer on the PSP than probably any other title.
Asphalt 3D looks like an iPhone game, because it's a long-running series that's existed on phones since before even the iPhone. Ridge Racer 3D is looking better every time they show it, and it will probably run at 60fps like the console iterations.

@Arkard yeah mario kart looked good, and I'm not even as big a fan of the series as I was during the SNES/N64 games.
Also, motion controls work well in some of those racing games. It takes time to get used to them, but once you do, it's not a detriment like getting used to virtual analogue sticks on a shooter. Some games have more accurate control than others. I also think that most of the iPhone racers just suck in general, so it shouldn't be attributed to the input.

Nice to see new footage from a lot of these games... except MGS3D. For one of the most heavily promoted titles on the system, it doesn't appear to be very far along in development.
Lately I've been shifting more and more toward the "wait for the inevitable second iteration" camp, but if any game of the ones announced so far has the power to sway me, it'll probably be Paper Mario. Just looking at those few seconds of it had my nostalgia glands flaring up. (bizarre metaphors FTW)

This game lineup actually looks really good. I'm totally buying one if I can afford it when it comes out. If I can't, I'll just wait for the inevitable nicer looking, more portable 2nd revision. 3DS Lite.

There's only a few I'm excited about from the video: Super Street Fighter IV 3D, Super Monkey Ball 3DS (any game that has kart racing AND Smash Bros. Brawl fighting is a win -- now Sega needs to do a proper Super Smash Bros. Brawl Sega game with ALL their characters), Blazblue Continuum Shift II, Raving Rabbid platformer, and Professor Layton & The Mask of Miracle. Pilotwings 3DS, Mario Kart 3DS & Kid Icarus: Uprising look great, Kid Icarus especially. That game looks like Sin & Punishment and that's always a good thing.

The graphics in some of these games look really good. Resident Evil looks almost identical to the console version in terms of graphics. I'm excited for the next generation of handhelds! Now Sony just needs to announce the new PSP.

There seems to be a large disparity in graphics quality in these games. Some games look Gamecube quality, and some high-end Wii quality, and some games look borderline 360 quality (DOA, Resident Evil, SSF4). Even Kid Icarus looks a LOT better than it did at E3 last year. Starfox looks ridiculously cool. I have no doubt that by the end of this systems life-cycle we will be seeing games at near 360 quality or on par.
