Fan transforms Killzone into a card game
31
Love the Helghast, but hate getting schooled in Killzone's online battlefield? Then you may want to try your hand on a fan-made CCG adaptation, instead. Created by "thepineapple1," the Killzone card game has you dueling one-on-one against another player. With your "Action Points," you'll be able to command and promote soldiers, equip weapons, and even use vehicles. But don't expect to jump into the game immediately. Like many other games in the genre, you'll have to sit down and learn the rules; the downloadable starter kit includes a detailed nine page rule book.
With some patience (and a decent color printer), the Killzone card game looks like a rather interesting diversion. Download the Helghast starer pack here, and the ISA starter pack here.

@atriux Have we really got to the point where if anyone likes anything they're a fanboy?

a fanboy isn't a bad thing, when i first came to Joystiq it was actually named PS3 Fanboy (.com) and there were other Fanboy sites... then the merger happened and the console war ended. Still, the only bad type of fanboyism is the blind kind, the one where they can do no wrong and everybody else is a blind fanboy but you. Thats the bad fanboy.

@Acosta02 I say start embracing your inner fanboy. If you like something, stick with it. Why waffle from team to team. NO MORE! I am a fanboy! Now give me these cards in a proper box on some decent cardboard!

i typically use the term "fan" for someone who likes something but is reasonable about it. "fanboy" tends to carry negative connotations.

...and that statement proves why it hasn't ended yet. nothing has "won". nothing has "lost". well, nintendo lost a bit of my respect with the wii, but hell if it matters to them or anyone else. and if anything, the PC hasn't even come close to "winning", not by a long shot. MW2's absolute turn on the PC helped show that. ubi's insane DRM helped show that.

Is it a first-person card game where players throw cards at each other and the one who lands the most head shots wins the internets?

That's a lot of colour printing.

our current multifunction centre with the scanner and the printerness and that shit costs a fortune to refill the inks in. Worst of all if you fill it up with new black + coloured inks and only print black and white, it will run out of magenta...

I finally managed to play the full KZ2 game the other day. What a gorgeous, yet strangely sluggish game. Visually it was like WOW, this is a console game? But the controls felt like I was moving through molasses.

@GuardianLegend they were trying to give the feeling that you are caring a large pack of heavy gear, so interesting idea but like you pointed out it slows down game play. personally i didn't mind it but i see your point.

I think GG should fire their game designers. This game is gorgeous but there's only like 50 people playing the multiplayer.

@(Unverified) I'd hire the kid to make this a proper set and add it as an ultimate collection or something and charge more. It looks pretty well done and thought out.

This needs to be patented and sold commercially. I would play.
