F.E.A.R. 3 delayed until May
31
Looks like F.E.A.R. 3 needs a few more months of gestation. Previously announced for March 22, 2011, Joystiq has confirmed with a Warner Bros. representative that those looking for supernatural pregnancy scares will have to wait until May. So far, Best Buy is the only major retailer reflecting the change.
We want to make sure we're prepared for those earth-shattering Alma contractions, but WBIE isn't currently sharing a more specific due date.

The whole is greater than the (body) parts here. I can't help but enjoy these games even though they don't hold under close scrutiny. Bring on more F.E.A.R.!

Sucks, but if it makes it a better game in the end, why not?

I'd be lying if I said that I remembered this game was still in development.

i can't be the only one that enjoyed FEAR 2 on consoles (except the terrible ending), tight controls and the school level was really freaky/memorable

The original FEAR is still tth best game by far, had some great J-Horror moments.. played through that about 6 times, you'd see Alma in a lift door, through the glass of a balcony and look to it. the scares would be where they would be spotted in normal play
FEAR Files felt like DLC missions, probably only one scare that I remember, could in no way hold up to the original...
FEAR 2 was a joke, you had to look for the scares, you would hear the cue then have to spin the camera around to try to see it before it disappeared as if they were secrets
I expect F3AR to follow the same trend.. in that the "FEAR" tag is being used to sell just-another-shooter

People noted it's comparisons to J-horror back in 2005. And you'd know it's a valid comparison if you'd played the damn game. Get off your tall stallion.

FEAR is probably one of my favorite games of all time. I still dabble in the campaign just for thrills.
FEAR 2 was just CoD with ghosts.
This one looks so f ucking bad so far it's laughable. Seems they're all more concerned with ironing out the wrinkles in the four or five separate "pRe-0rdEr b0nuSes!!!1!" from four or five different retailers than making a game that won't suck rhino balls. It just looks so unbelievably cheesy and casualed out to all the damn cod and halo kids that get a boner over co-op and magical powers.

Oh no! Another meat and potatoes shooter has been pushed back 2 months! I guess people will have to play one of the nine billion other military shooters currently available to stave off their hunger for boring scripted machinegun battles in various linear dark industrial levels during great F.E.A.R. drought of 2011! I'm A.F.R.A.I.D. I won't be able to deal with the agonizing lack of the same exact shit we've been playing for the past 10 years!

I was unaware horror/fps was an overused genre...

Why does F.E.A.R. draw so much hate? I know its another shooter but even games outside the CoD/Halo/BF world that are closer copycats are less shitted on.

I love if when people compare FEAR to CoD, when FEAR 1's gameplay is still 10 times more enjoyable than your garden-variety military shooter

I think companies for the most part should announce games when they are close enough to completion that they will actually make the original date. They don't seem to realize that delay after delay hurts more than it helps. People lose interest over time. Like with me, it is no longer a Day 1 purchase..no pun intended.
