Kojima Productions recruiting more Metal Gear staff

Otacon: Snake! I was looking at Konami's website and saw that Kojima Productions is hiring staff to make the "next generation" of Metal Gear Solid.
Snake: Metal Gear!
Otacon: Right, Snake, people to work on the next generation of Metal Gear Solid games.
Snake: Next-generation special forces?!
Otacon: Well, I guess you could call them that. Konami is hiring designers, programmers and artists.
Snake: They're building an army!
Otacon: They could just need some additional staff to work on Metal Gear Solid: Rising, Snake. You remember, the one starring Raiden.
Snake: Raiden!
Otacon: ...
Snake: Otacon?!
Otacon: What is it, Snake?
Snake: Tell the story again about the time I drove a ... Metal Gear!

I second this. I tried playing Peace Walker on PSP and for some reason it just couldn't hold my attention as well as MGS4. I think it would help a lot if I could sit back and play it on my TV.

that would kill the whole game, it was built around the PSP and the older game MGS Ops... i get why you would want it on the PS3 but i don't want to play the same game twice just to have fancier graphics.

Just because a new game comes out doesn't mean you have to play it. You wouldn't have to play it twice. I know it's never going to happen but it would be nice for a way for the people who don't have a PSP to be able to play it. But I guess that would ruin the point of it being on PSP... It just doesn't feel like it was meant to be a portable game. I played a half hour of it and put it down. That's the point of portable games, quick and easy gaming.

That's the way I feel about it too. I don't really have a need for a portable system, and so will never play it. It seems a shame that so many MGS fans will never get to play it for those reasons.

I second this. It was painfully obvious to me from playing the game that the control scheme was designed with a Dualshock controller in mind.

I wouldn't mind if all great PSP games were ported to the PS2. Ps3 seems like overkill. If you don't own a PS2... what's wrong with you?

I think that deserves its own platinum trophy. It takes as long to watch those cutscenes as most games do to beat.

Metal Gear?

Whatever happened to the trophy patch for MGS4? Kojima teased it during a podcast ages ago. I'd lobe yet another reason to replay it.

I'm hoping they release a remastered MGS collection with trophies and improved graphics for the PS1 and PS2 games like they did for Sly Cooper and God of War ... probably won't happen though :(

I'd settle for downloadable versions of the the games as is (the last MGS I played was 2). But hey, remastered in HD would be even better!

Joystiq did an article about it a while ago, Kojima said he was working on too much stuff at this time but wouldn't mind if someone else would go ahead and add trophies.

If they can remake Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, then I will be happy and Kojima can do whatever other games he wants. I just need those two to complete my collection!

They should do an HD collection (on the PS3) with MGS The Twin Snakes, MGS2 Substance and MGS3 Subsistence.

Did anyone else read that exchange and have David Hayter's voice in their head saying all of that, or is it just me?

If they're looking for people to work on a "next generation" Metal Gear game, it will be for the "next generation" of consoles. As in, the PS4/Xbox 720/Wii HD.

I read it in their voices.

Trophies and MGS 1-3 HD please Konami - it's easy money. In fact, why don't you make MGSHD come with MGS4 trophies that download to your harddrive. Yes I'm that desperate.
