Was this game designed for sega saturn? Looks pretty bad for a tactics game that doesnt require a physics engine or anything else that would hinder it from looking good.

Tell me about it...the Charmin pooping bears commercial that aired before the video had more impressive animations.

@SaltCube64 Mind showing me a couple SRPGs that looks good and are fun? Any one that plays good always looks like hell in my experience.

Just because it's a commercial, doesn't mean it's bad. Many animators make commercials to make a bit of money.

Charmin bears were created by Joanna Quinn.

@SaltCube64 This is what happens when you make a game entirely through unpaid interns.

@L4our VC is pretty far from the genre this game is. With it being a hybrid of realtime third person shooting and turnbased character selection. VC is more akin to Eternal Sonata than this.

I don't get why Wizards of the Coast thinks we want to somewhat emulate the card game's mechanics or basic ideas. Give a Magic the Gathering RTS where I get to be Urza, and I will give them my money.

Or maybe a handheld version of the actual card game? It astonishes me that they've never even tried this; you'd think they'd be eager to take away one of the major advantages Yu-Gi-Oh! has over them.

Or, put another way: Yu-Gi-Oh! has long figured out the right way to turn itself into a video game; I continue to be surprised at how Magic fails to follow suit.

I'm still waiting for a PokeMon TCG2. Ugh. That first game was sooo good. Exeggutor was the beast!

Yeah, like those terrible games MTGO and Duels of the Planeswalkers. They weren't good at all.

Nobody liked them.

At all.

Seriously, I'm telling the truth. Can you tell?

@Omega2k3 MTGO is fine - great even, but Duel of the Planeswalker?? I can't edit my deck and can't pick which lands to tap for mana.

Utter crap.

DotP was meant to be balanced and easily approachable, and you can enable manual mana tapping in the settings, if I remember correctly.

I haven't played DotPW and thus can't comment on its quality or lack thereof, but my point stands that compared to Magic, YGO has the sense to release their games in a handheld format, and to do so regularly. (Just to be clear, as a card game I think Magic is superior.)

Also, MTGO is functional, but kind of absurd. They want me to pay real money for virtual cards that I can only use to play against online opponents? Forget that.

For a game that has both an incredibly reputation to follow up to AND being released in the 2011, it has both horrible graphics and animations.

I know aesthetics isn't everything... but when you have amazing card art, you kind of need back it up.

I was always of the mindset that if your game has terrible graphics, you don't spend the trailer focusing on said graphics.

I can't see why they won't make a XBLA & PSN equilavent of Magic Online, but rather try to make something out of the lore (which is pretty good) instead of the game mechanics (which are awesome and the reason why the game is so popular).

The trailer looked bad :(

Man, you're all brutal. For a game that is likely to be a $10 PSN title, you all act like it should have idtech 5 under the hood or something.

It looks . . . serviceable. I have yet to see a computer program that can truly emulate the experience of building a deck/playing magic personally. We'll just have to see what happens.

I glanced the title of the game and thought it said 'Wagic: The Homebrew', I was happy. Then I realized that it said Magic: The Gathering, then I raged.
