Hey, waiting in line at midnight in late March is sure to be better than doing so in mid to late November like pretty much every other system.

Already pre-ordered at Gamestop a few weeks ago though; probably gonna go in sometime this weekend to pay the rest off

BestBuy.com has pre-orders too. I just cashed in a bunch of rewards certificates that were set to expire 3/26 from my Christmas shopping.

thanks for the heads up, didnt see it this morning when i checked.
Would stay w/ amazon if they do release date, otherwise it's going to be BB... not going to hand over any money to GameStop.

What's nice about best buy is that you can do in-store pickup (gamestop doesn't seem to be allowing that at the moment) so you can preorder online, print off the receipt, head over there whenever you want and pick it up on release. :3

90% of the things you can buy on amazon.com you can't find on amazon.ca

I hate having to pay 3 gazillion dollars to have something shipped.

since it cant arrive on a sunday (when the device launches) i'll have time to walk into a bestbuy and pick up some games i guess. or order from amazon as well. it depends on who has it cheaper.

If that's what you think then maybe you should have gone to E3 last year.

@JONNNathannn It's hysterical that an innocent question about such a new and innovative product gets downranked.

"You think people might want to see the 3D effect in person or see if the questionable positioning of the dpad/analog disc is comfortable BEFORE buying? It's Nintendo, it's perfect!"

The 3D effect can be turned off, so what does it matter if it works well for you or not? Just turn it off if it doesn't.

@DarthRevan - God I hope that Amazon allows us to keep our free prime after our years is up. Free prime for students is the best marketing idea in the history of the world. I have bought so much crap that I otherwise wouldn't have, just because I don't have to pay any shipping on it (or get up to $25 to use their awful free shipping option). I may just cry if they cut us off in hopes that we'll spend the money to pay for prime.

I might pick one up after a year (and a price drop), but not now. I'm not into Nintendo, at all, and find none of the games appealing to me. I'll just stick to my PS3 and iPod touch.

Same here, but I doubt its gonna drop in price next year unless Nintendo were to release a updated version of the 3DS.

We have to pay $367 (£230) for the 3DS here in the UK.

Of course, that's because our country needs to be ripped off by law.

£219 from Play.

But they don't advertise the VAT like they do here. I believe that ups the price to £200 after conversion. So it's not THAT bad.

@butaneko - I think my county has a law against buying liquor on Sunday. That's why I stock up during the week.

Also; The 3DS comes out on Sunday? I guess I'll be two days late to the party with two day shipping...meh... that four dollar upgrade to one day is looking better and better.

Amazon UK has now announced they're selling it at £219.99.

Apparently the RRP was £249.99 though, as that's what they've discounted it from.

I would pre-order with Amazon, but my concern is whether or not the $250 is charged when it actually arrives in stock or when you click "pre-order". That's the only thing stopping me from pre-ordering it.

Yep. Went ahead and pre-ordered it. Good thing Amazon doesn't charge you until AFTER the 3DS is shipped. The nice thing is, if the price goes down and it was already shipped, you get the difference refunded to your card! Can't wait till 3/27/2011!

Pre-ordered. Thank you :P

Looking forward to early April when this thing (hopefully) arrives. I know there's going to be a digital distribution service for it but I wonder if you can buy full blown games for it as well. It would sure beat cartridges (although I know it will be possible to pre-load games onto the device itself).
