i wish they'd put Rayman 2 on XBLA or something. I feel like that game suffered sales because it was kind of hard to find a specific outlet for. So many versions, so many rumors about quality of said versions, just confusion of a great release.

I kind of feel the same way about Rabbids Go Home too, more so just the whole 'awesome game no one bought from a popular franchise' category though.

Rayman 2 is a PS1 classic on PSN.

Dear game developers,

I know remaking a classic game in 3D is an exciting prospect, but wouldn't it be even MORE exciting to make an all new entry into a popular series in 3D?

Sincerely,

Fuzunga

Chill out, launch games are nothing but remakes, ports and sequels.

Most of the original games tend to come out during the mid-life of a console.

@Fuzunga

It's probably way easier, way cheaper, and a better way to test out the new technology, see how it works. It also lets them see how fans respond.

Like if they respond real well to this? Ubisoft will probably make a new 3D Rayman, but if they don't? They'll keep making Rabbid Minigame compilations.

Wut? I'm not in the mood to look up the launch titles for a multitude of platforms, but your theory that most a remakes of older games sounds like bull-hockey. I can't recall off the top of my head a similar case. This is just Ubi being lazy.

I don't know - seems legit at first glance. I remember Super Mario Advance and Mario 64 DS headlining the last two platform launches.

@Fuzunga I second this. Enough Rabbids shenanigans and come on with a real Rayman sequel!

That said, my N64 doesn't work very well anymore. I'll likely be buying this as it's a phenomenal game.

I love Rayman 2 but I must have played it 35 times on a multitude of platforms by now. I can't rebuy that game again. I can't.

Come on Ubi, give Rayman a truly new 3d adventure.

Where's the Rabbid's?

You mean, there were Rayman games before without Rabbids?

Weird...

I'm not complaining, the more software support the better, but wasn't a remake of Rayman 2 also a launch title for the DS?

That's kinda lame. Rayman 2 was great, but I want a new game. I don't have the same desire for a Rayman remake as I do for the Ico Collection or the God of War Collection, etc.

It'll be fun, but, come on, Ubi, give me new stuff!

Ubisoft's launch line up, like their Wii launch line up, is awful. They really like to put no effort into their launch titles.

@WPstart This generation, Ubisoft seemingly has put no effort into just about everything. Were it not for Assassin's Creed, Ubisoft would probably be one of the worst publishers this gen. And the sad thing is, it all started out so wonder. Last-gen, Ubisoft was easily one of the best publishers ever. And even the start of this gen with the likes of GRAW, Double Agent and Rainbow Six Vegas, Ubisoft was on fire . . .

. . . aaaaaand then the Wii came along, and Ubisoft just started making tons of shovelware for it. And somewhere along the line decided that tons of shovelware was a good idea for every console. And now the only thing we are left with is Assassin's Creed, and the hope they can release Beyond Good and Evil 2, and properly revitalize the Tom Clancy franchises . . . before the end of this generation.

Hell, even Ubisoft's HD remakes are rubbish. The Prince of Persia trilogy they released on PS3 are little more than the PC versions of those games from last-gen, ported to PS3 as-is. As many millions of copies as the Prince of Persia trilogy has sold, I was expecting the full blown God of War Collection treatment, and what I got were games I could have bought on PC ages ago, with no changes from the original code. For shame Ubisoft . . . for shame.

Did the Dreamcast version have 800 Lums or 1000? I wanna know if they're gonna include voice acting along with 1000 Lums. As I learned playing different versions of this game, I can't have both.

Why can't we just have a definitive Rayman 2 already? Combine the features of all the versions, and have the option of English voice-overs or gibberish with subs. I'd go for English voice-overs no matter how terrible, just because the gibberish always annoyed the hell out of me. The game is still great and I love it, but.... really Ubisoft? ANOTHER Rayman 2 port? How about making Rayman 4? I'm STILL waiting for it. Stupid lying fairy frog thing....

Hopefully if this sells well it will convince Ubisoft to stop making those damn Rabbid games and get back to a real platforming adventure.

Its all fine and dandy giving Rayman 2 the glory, but what about its spiritual sequel Rayman Rush/M? That was my first Rayman game and personally I like it more than Rayman 2, even though it didn't have a story. I wish Ubi Soft would remake Rayman Rush/Arena, give it a story and increase the number of useable characters and stages...it would be my 3DS multiplayer dream....
