Dead Space 2 includes code for 'Ser Isaac of Clarke' armor in Dragon Age 2

EA has announced that early copies of Dead Space 2 (due out next Tuesday, January 25) will include a code to unlock special "Ser Isaac of Clarke" armor in Dragon Age 2, which arrives March 8. As you can see in the video after the break, the armor is a little more, well, medieval than Clarke's rig in Dead Space, but the resemblance is certainly there.

And it's not just purty -- the armor's got rune slots in it; requires high dexterity and cunning skills to wear; and adds bonuses to armor and crit damage. According to the fine print, it seems like Xbox 360 and PC codes will be sharable across platforms, but the PS3 code from Dead Space 2 will only unlock the armor in the PS3 version of Dragon Age 2. If Isaac Clarke's career as an alien-slicing space-gineer never works out, maybe he can just stick with video game cameos -- he's already got quite the resumé.

That was my single biggest gripe with Mass Effect 2. If nothing else the helmets should have been removed for cut-scenes!

Yeah, I liked the perks of the Spartan armor in Fable 2, but it kind of took me out of the immersion of the game. I ended up going with non-Spartan clothing after some time and that felt more right.

This, I guess, is a little less like that as it is all pretty much armor but still...

Dragon Age 2 vs Dead Space 2 vs Mass Effect 3 for GOTY. How will EA handle the satisfaction and disappointment all at the same time?

Uncharted 3 is the only other major contendor I can see so far. For the record I think it will be ME3.

@iGnome Ah, Resistance 3. I'm with ya. I'll never understand why the first and second didn't sell more than they did (especially the 2nd). I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea, but seeing sales of some of the crap that sells, it just baffles me. Great games.

Resistance 3 certainly looks like it is building a strong hype machine behind it. I finished the first one. Sadly I have Resistance 2 in my 'pile of shame' - that being the games I have to yet to play but own.

@Misfit Toy The second is pretty different from the first. Some people like that and some hate it. Good luck with the pile of shame. I can't seem to make progress with mine as so many great titles get released and then crazy deals pop up. I guess I'd rather have a pile of games than a pile of...well, you know.

Because it was kinda boring. I wish they'd get off their ass and work on a less mainstream IP. Not Ratchet and Clank though, I have plenty of versions of that game.

I would however enjoy a new Platformer or even an RPG from them.

Well I have Dead Space 2 & Dragon Age 2 on pre-order, so this is just a cool little addition for me. I think the armor looks pretty slick, probably won't use it (never used the Blood Dragon Armor either) but it'll be a nice little token to have.

couldn't they have used cross advertising to make me have to buy a better game than dead space to get all the content in the game i actually want? and what with this this early copy talk, does this mean i couldnt wait till its cheaper if i decided i wanted to buy dead space 2 in the future?

man thats crap... i didnt immediatly buy dragon age when it came out but i was still able to get that dragon armor in mass effect 2 cross promotion thing, but no.... EA is a clever girl trying to make us spend the maximum on a bland game to get the full content in much better game.

Isaac in Dragon Age, Solid Snake in Monster Hunter...

Good lord, I'm still working on playing through a lot of the games from the holiday season last year, and I'm already falling behind on 2011 games.

There are too many good games. I never thought I would complain about that.

I'm re-imagining light sabers on the knights templar's crusades. haha.

I'm glad the developers EA has under its wing are very aware of each other. This is my favorite. Bioware and Visceral are great.

Now I just need some Isaac Clarke in my Mass Effect 3

also why can't i prepurchase Dead Space 2 on Steam... only because i am in germany and the releasedate is later, doesn't mean the pre purchase needs to be blocked! *gnah*

Horrible that EA is taking this root now. Trying to convince DA players to buy a game they probably dont want just to get armor for the game they do want.

Guess i'm gonna miss out on this armor. oh well.....
