This is easily one of my most looked forward to games for the 3DS (along with Animal Crossing, SSF4 and Mario Kart).

This better be good.

Still cautiously optimistic.

So, what about leftie's? What's the control option for a lefty? I believe the 3DS just has 1 analog on the left side, and then what, I have to learn how to hold a stylus in my right and use it? Gee. Sounds like a hoot.

@Rubix42 I was thinking the very same thing this morning. I just KNOW quite a few developers are going to use that touch screen as an analog stick replacement and I'm not looking forward to bungling my way with the stylus in my right hand.

Sounds like every other console and portable ever.

I'm not saying it's good that they don't take southpaws into account, but as always, I'm sure you'll make do.

yeah but t least you don't have to use a stylus with your right hand while the left is on the analog stick. I guess I need to train my right hand more. :o)

Has a sin and punishment vibe. Doesn't appeal to me personally but it still looks VERY impressive. Glad everyone that's been waiting on a recent adaptation of kid Icarus is finally getting it ... and it's awesome to boot!

Do people really need to be reminded that these games will be on 3D on every image? Even the Pope knows that 3DS will feature 3D by now...

@Pure Black World Tendency

I figured it was some sort of Nintendo mandate.

@Pure Black World Tendency

It looks to me that all images and videos now include this tagline and if I were to guess the reason I would say Nintendo has mandated it. It makes sense to me because this is a new type of format in which there is no way to properly show screenshots or videos of what it will really look like. Until we all have 3d displays I guess...

@Pure Black World Tendency Some people still don't understand that you need an HDTV to watch high def channels or that you need an HDTV to watch blu-ray in its intended glory. I'd say it's for those kind of people and, as others have stated, Nintendo more than likely mandates this.

Okay, does anybody remember the thumb-strap that came with original model DS systems?...And does anybody know why Nintendo is pretending it never existed? Playing Hunters was a breeze with that thing. I got to support the system with both my hands while also being able to use the touch screen without running my bare thumb over it. I would seriously SCOFF at people who tried to play games like Hunters with the stylus, because that thumb-strap just worked so well, but Nintendo seems to have forgotten it, and DS shooters have suffered for it...

@Gendreavus You do know you can still get them, right? It may not be included in the box, but Nintendo has them for sale on their online store. I do agree, though, that it was way better for Hunters than the regular stylus.

I know this is a handheld, but for $250 I expect some anti-aliasing. Why are all the 3DS screenshots so horribly jaggy?

@SpartacusMagnus

Like most Nintendo games this generation, I'd imagine that the game looks several times better when it's actually running versus how it looks in screenshots.

@SpartacusMagnus A: Not rendered in 3D

B: Horribly pixelated due to not being on a 3DS

C: Might also be because these are tech demos.

You're only seeing half of the image if you think about it. The 3D effect is created by two images. Only seeing one reduces the overall resolution to half. That and any screen looks worse than the game in action.

Doesn't actually work that way, the 3ds renders each image in 400x200 resolution, the one above is stretched to 530x318 so the jaggies are more apparent. Still it's quite low res by today's standards.

Correction, 400x240

Your eyes won't "combine" the images to make it smoother, each is separate.

I'm assuming he means a capacitive screen as opposed to the resistive screen I'm assuming the 3DS has. Also he's probably also wanting a finger friendly UI, ala touchscreen phone games/apps. I must agree that utilizing a resistive, stylus-based interface in 2011 is kinda archaic.
