Mama Mia! Majesco cooks up $2.1 million fiscal-year loss
13
Majesco Entertainment ended its last fiscal year (on October 31, 2010) with a $2.1 million loss -- which is better than the $6.6 million it flambéed the previous fiscal year. The financially troubled publisher is pinning its hopes in the new fiscal year (which began Nov. 1) on Crafting Mama, Babysitting Mama and Zumba Fitness, which has already sold a half-million units since its mid-November release. Majesco has also planted one of those money-growing trees: a Facebook game, Friends Cafe.
With its focus on mass-market appeal, Majesco could well bake up some profits this fiscal year. We'll keep watch over its shoulder, though, mindful to leave a clear path to the fire extinguisher in case the money continues to burn.

I played Cooking Mama in hopes it will improve my skills...and I am still a lousy cook. My roommates take out a life insurance policy whenever I try and cook something...I can only imagine what will happen if I try playing Babysitting Mama.

Hey Mejesco want my money? Than make another F'ing Advent Rising! Zumba fitness, phsyconauts, the first cooking momma and Advent Rising are the only games I bought with your name on it. And Zumba Fitness was garbage!

it's a shame that nobody played "A Boy and His Blob". that game deserved a lot more love than it got.

After looking at all the shovelware they published I kind of feel like they deserve it. They need to learn to have some quality control.

For it's time it was rather ambitious, but I enjoyed what I played of it.
There were a lot of cool ideas in the gameplay but there were also some bugs that hindered the enjoyment of said gameplay.
One of the best things about the game was the story. They made a mistake by preempting a trilogy (cliffhanger ending). If it would have been a single contained story maybe people would have received it better.
I think a lot of people saw the potential a sequel had, but since Advent Rising put Majesco near bankruptcy they had no choice but to change their business model.

Sorry guys I am disappointed with the mama shop. There's a tongue on the roof of her mouth. with 3 minutes of effort you could have just colored the tongue out.
