I'd just like to point out again that Infinity Blade is a boring, not that fun game.

@Jack Kevorkian at least it showcased the visual capabilities of the platform... the point was to show that even a popular engine like "Unreal Engine 3" could run a modified version on iOS devices...

I expect more interesting Unreal Engine iOS games in the future...

i agree with you, i think its way over hyped because it just looks really good. i played casual games that held my attention longer.

@dfnj123 But until the iphone grows some buttons, most games will be limited to simple and boring. other than games like angry birds, which isnt meant to look good but is addictive.

@Jack Kevorkian If you say so. I'm still playing it pretty regularly because -- surprise! -- it's a lot of fun.

"...something that's been proven quite handily lately by titles like Infinity Blade."

Infinity Blade is the purest definition of sacrificing game play for graphics prowess. No surprise then that Epic is behind the title.

@Co

Sacrificing gameplay for graphics? Epic? I think they've found quite a comfortable balance of both.

Disagree – I think IB is great, and it's also worth noting that it wasn't developed internally at Epic. It was made by Chair, which is a studio owned by Epic, but operated independently.

Sega just does't take it's own industry seriously anymore. These releases are part of a man-child's temper tantrum that started the day the Dreamcast died.

A) There's probably a Tiger version.

B) It's probably in the pipeline.

I love that the Iphone gets all these classic games in portable form that aren't available anywhere else (Secret of Mana, Megaman 2, etc) but they are just trainwrecks to play without buttons. I really hope these games can get released on the 3Ds virtual market. I would love to have portable, FUNCTIONING versions of these games.

I'm with ya. I'm glad they are available for those owning an iPhone, but let's get them to other platforms. I would pay $40+ for a co-op capable version of Secret of Mana via XBLA or PSN.

@Captain Planet Planeteer Power

Sumo Digital needs to buy Sega. If they did a 3D (or 2D for that matter) Sonic game, I know they'd do it justice, like they did with Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing.

It used to be a sign of quality when you say "Sonic Team" on a game. Now I avoid it like the plague when I spot that logo.

@Shockwave

I'd rather have Nintendo buy Sega. They understand the Sega audience better than Sega itself. Can you imagine a Sega game produced by Miyamoto?? I have to change my underpants just thinking about it.

Yet, i'm still waiting for these idiots to announce final showdown on ps3...

SEGA- Do explain me this, why do you not prefer to make money in whoring out your good franchises like Virtua Fighter and Shenmue? Why do you still consist making shitty sonic games that you barely see any good sells?

@ShinFuYux Shenmue ? The biggest sales failure in Sega's history ? Even with all the XBox re-release and the spin off mobile phone game they haven't made that money back.

iphone is a cheap cash in. throw any kind of junk on it and it may sell. this is why you wont see high budget games, you find on psp or even ds for that matter on the iphone. wait till the 3ds and psp2 come out, you'll see where all the good top notch games go.

iPhone or not it doesn't excuse Sega for being lazy. Considering they whore out out games all the time.
