My guess is that this is case is shock absorbent which is a good thing in case you drop your 3DS, but certainly not very aesthetically appealing as many pointed out. Doesn't matter at this point as I already pre-ordered mine from a different retailer.

That's a cheap, tacky looking case if ever there was one.
I'd rather spend a little money on a case that can hold 3DS + games, has some soft protection for the 3DS (never dropped a DS but better safe than sorry) and looks nicer.

Ugly! Glad I am NOT getting a 3DS right away;. I'll consider it if more colors come out, the price drops by $20 and when Animal Crossing: 3DS comes out.
