LA Noire trailer leaks, reveals May 17 release date [update: it's gone]

Update: Sorry gang, it looks like Rockstar's managed to pull down all instances of the trailer from YouTube. Don't fret if you missed it -- the official trailer releases this Monday.

Quickly now, gumshoes -- somehow, the trailer for Rockstar's upcoming detective opus LA Noire which was due to drop this Monday has released a great deal earlier than that. Folks on the YouTubes have uploaded leaked versions of the trailer with haste, and, while it's still available, you can watch it just after the jump.

It is, as you might expect, super hot -- though the most attractive thing about the video in question isn't all the crazy-good facial animations or stellar voice acting: It's the announcement of the game's May 17 release date. It cannot come soon enough. No, seriously, it can't. To the time machines!

I wonder if it was still going to look this bad when the trailer was supposed to leak. This is a very unimpressive looking game. Maybe they were planning to polish it up a bit before the real release.

Brink has been pushed back 3 times now. Don't get your hopes up on it actually coming out May 17th. If it does though, I already have them both paid off so I'm not to worried about it lol

@Lerkero Don't hold your breath. You're not going to see any until after the game comes out. Don't you remember GTA4? There were just the trailers Rockstar released up until launch and that was it.

Even when the game leaked a few days early and people started doing livestreams of the game, Rockstar was pretty active in getting them shut down.

That said, I personally don't need to see any. I've enjoyed enough Rockstar games that I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I wonder how many people are going to whine, after the release, about the fact that this isn't an open world game like GTA... probably a lot!

I want to see some gameplay, the city itself and the gunplay and driving.

I love all the hate someone is getting by merely posting his opinion. You can't simply say "Hey, I disagree and think it looks like a good game!"

For the record i think it looks pretty terrible and there's most likely a reason Rockstar has barely shown any footage of it until recently.

Definitely looks like a Rockstar game. Is it running on the same engine as GTAIV?

Looks great but I'd be 100% SOLD if we got a dlc scenario where Pete Campbell is orchestrating a series murders across town because he was printed in Boys Life.

I watched that video on the facial expressions. Looks amazing. Can't wait til other games use something like it.

RockStar is setting up this game to be the Red Dead Redemption of 2011. Even down to the release date. (RDR came out May 18)

Damn, I missed more trailers showing off the incredible facial expression engine that makes the characters look real and not like dead eyed zombies pretending to be alive.
