Halo recreated in Minecraft somehow, probably using dark magic or something

We can't begin to understand how YouTube user SidolaTehNerd managed to recreate Halo using the rudimentary tools of Minecraft -- but our lack of understanding doesn't make this accomplishment any less radical. Check out a clip of the world-builder-turned-FPS after the jump.

Yahtzee sums this up nicely in his Zero Punctuation Minecraft review. Gmod isn't as fun as a game compared to Minecraft because you instantly spawn whatever you want, while Minecraft makes you explore and gather to make the coolest stuff.
Not to say Gmod isn't cool, it's just a completely different dynamic.

I've avoided MC because I'm sure it would suck me into hours of play - but it's so incredible to see the creations inside the game.

User generated content like this and the Zelda level in LBP in the earlier article restore my faith in humanity.

Not to say this isn't amazing, but I was expecting a campaign mission when I read the title.
Imagine seeing the Halo control room all minecrafty. THAT would be a sight.

So you can play halo, even when you aren't playing halo. Hold on, i think someone made it possible to play halo on little big planet, i will never have to play not halo again. /sigh wish i was playing counterstrike.

It looks like they modded a sword to act as a bow and arrow(or just re-skinned the bow and arrow) and to actually do damage to other players. That's genius and awesome.

So Minecraft is what you get if you put 8-bit pixel graphics in a 3D world? It looks a lot like 3D Dot Heroes...
I've never played Minecraft, so I'm genuinely curious.

That's the essential art style, yes. The game itself basically makes manual labor fun by turning mining into a loot-lover's drug. There are a bunch of different types of blocks, some much rarer than others, and all gradually appearing more and more frequently the closer you get to the rarest blocks, which are currently diamond and lapis lazuli. Plus there's monsters that can be surprisingly difficult to kill if you get taken by surprise. It's a fantastic sandbox game where you can build anything you want. Definitely worth trying out.

Well, it's Halo... so, he could've just made one or two hallways and used the available tools to copy+paste it a million times.

You guys.
Minecraft has PVP on multiplayer and I'm sure they are using a texture pack.
It's so simple, and it's also so amazing. So if you haven't gotten it yet, why.

Actually, Rule #35 is if no porn exists of it, it will be made.
But I can see Minecraft fitting in someone in the rules.

So, between Minecraft and Little Big Planet 2, I assume we can put the "is there a god" question to rest in a few months I hope.

@Drakkenfyre You're thinking of Rule #34, which is if something exists, there is porn for it.
Your Rule #35 of "If no porn exists of it, it will be made" contradicts Rule #34, because rule #34 states there is already porn of everything. No exceptions.
