I love a live action Dead Space movie.

So much great material to work with, and so many possibilities.

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze Yeah but is it just me or are video games being turned into movies a step BACKWARDS? imooo games surpass movies, there is so much mer value to them. I don't see what this game being a movie would prove. The games will always be a much better and more interactive experience vs sitting and watching others do everything on a screen.

People will ALWAYS complain about video games movies because there is always something someone would have done differently, and in the video games you CAN do that differently.

Most of Dead Space is just ripped off from Alien and Aliens though, so there'd really be no point in making a movie out of it.

I agree, although if they can get the atmosphere to the level of an "experience" then it might be okay...but a game will always surpass a movie because of the extent of the experience...so yea..agreed

This.

A surprisingly creepy movie that was already made, that Dead Space clearly already took a ton of influence from.

No need for any more comments in this story.

I'd say if you combine the setting of "Event Horizon" with the creatures from "The Thing" and toss in a bit of religious cult/alien 'marker' stuff any you have Dead Space.

All that being said, I think a movie could actually be pretty cool if done right and with enough funding. But who's kidding who, video games have not had much of a success transferring to the big screen.

@kentuckyfried Yeah, I'd forgotten about Pandorum, I can see that. But Event Horizon's influence on this game is readily apparent. It was the first thing I thought about when I played the first one.

Twisted Pictures is the company that made the Saw movies. It could work... Hopefully they make it actually scary AND gory! None of this dumbed-down PG-13 horror movie crap.

Game developers can give their games tons of gore, and the M rating is there for a reason. Why are movie studios so afraid to push the envelope with R-rated films?

As long as the team working on the Dead Space movie is the same team that did Saw 1-3 (with 3 being a maybe), and 6, then good.

The other Saw movies were complete and utter garbage, and I have yet to see how they handled 7, but seeing as they had to take what was going to be 2 more movies, and mush them together, my outlook is grim on it.

Same reason publishers like Wii games. Installed base is higher. More people can go see the movie in the theater. They didn't make 3 Shrek movies for nothing. Cash money its a hell of a drug.

What was so bad about Pandorum? It seemed like a good horror movie from the trailers...

Paul W.S. Anderson made Pandorum, and he has a fairly good track record...
- the Resident Evil movies (which have been hugely successful)
- the Mortal Kombat movie (which is, along with Silent Hill, one of the best game-to-movie adaptations)

Pandorum was a decent film if you haven't seen it yet. If you look at the plot too much, it's a bit dumb, but otherwise it's an enjoyable romp with excellent performances from Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster and the set designs are awesome. I like the weaponry and technology ideas they came up with.

Plus the German girl is smokin' hot in this.

Couldn't a movie studio just release a four-disc DVD pack containing Event Horizon, Alien, Aliens, and The Thing in it, and save everyone a lot of trouble?

Why not get David Russell to direct it, while we're at it. It could be about a family that deals with outer space art and antiquities and they can deal with heads of state and heads of museum and mete out justice along the way. That sounds like a really cool idea to David Russell.

Oh cool, I was wondering what it would be like if event horizon had a twenty-something white male, a young mentally strong attractive blonde that can do anyhting a man can do, a comedic black male, an attractive black woman. and asian guy that dies in the first 3 minutes, an indian man who is an engineer, a 12 year old that can hack into any computer system because he play video games, and shia lebuf

when can I buy tickets?
