Killzone 3 dev diary is gameplay-filled, genuinely upsetting
51
There's a massive amount of gameplay in the Killzone 3 dev diary posted below, so fans of the series should definitely scope it out. However, fans of not seeing dudes get their faces, necks, eyes and chests absolutely ruined by knives might want to go look for slightly friendlier videos.

@shopping bags I use an XCM controller converter to use my 360 controller on the ps3. It makes a huge difference for me, it it might for you if that's your sticking point. And... surprise... it still works on my fat PS3 after the unlicensed armageddon patch.

@2late2die - As a cost cutting measure, the Helghast decided to use candy glass instead of real glass in their goggles. This lead to many comedic double eye gouge injuries, that the top brass blamed on "super strong thumbed humans".

The super strong thumbs also stem from the fact that in the future, all soldiers were trained from their youth as hardcore gamers.

I love how they look so tired! KZ2 was my first PS3 game and I was amazed by the detail and playability. Loved it. I also REALLY loved the ending text graphics.
I have no problem on renting Bulletstorm. KZ3 will get my money for actually being a game of reasonable length and class. ( insert peepee joke here)

@Tapejara
I was definitely hyped on Bulletstorm. I love any kind of co-op functionality.
However, I was decidedly underwhelmed by the demo level. In fact, I was disappointed at how disappointed I was. I think it will still be fun, but next to Killzone 3... that's not a hard choice.
In summary, Day 1 = KZ3, and Bulletstorm a month later at $40 Amazon sale.

I'm happy there's variation in the melee, but the gore I could take or leave. Blood has always been visceral enough for me...

I really enjoyed the making the game documentary from God of War 3. Really gives you some insight into what it takes to put out a AAA title. The technical set backs, reacting to publics first viewing and early stages of development.
I hope they do a similar thing for KZ3.

I'm surprised you haven't gotten down voted yet. I agree,although Killzone 2 was such a good game that I dealt with the laggy controls and have played through the game three times.
I commend the idea that they are trying to keep a unique "heavy" feel to the game, I just hope they don't do so by using input delay across all controls to create that feel again. If I can use a pistol without a heavy feeling, but have the controls slow down a bit when I'm trying to use one of these heavy weapons they showed off in the video, I'm totally down with that. But if every single action in the game has a delay to it like the first, I will be severely disappointed. And then still play it, because I'm sure it will be awesome either way.
