looks fun. unfortunately it will probably only have an online community for about a month before it gets forgotten. I hate that every time a new game comes out that has a fun multiplayer mode gets played for a couple weeks or months before its back to the usual halo/cod/gears rotation. I do love playing those games online too, but its a shame there's not more variety in what people play on xbox live. i would love to be able to pop in a lot of my other games for some online action but can't because no one is playing them :/

That's every online game in existence. This is why people complain that not every game needs multiplayer. What's the point of creating a game mode that takes almost as long as the single player to develop and only lasts until the next "big multiplayer game" comes out? (or in the xbox's case the week it takes for HALO withdrawal to set in.)

Coming from Platinum, it will have a dedicated online community that carries the game on for years (until the servers are shut down / Microsoft cancels 360 LIVE at least). You'll just have to schedule matches through fansites and forums, not unlike we had to do with Phantom Dust.

@PN04 CoD withdrawal would be more accurate these days. Bungie's screwed up Halo so much that Modern Warfare 2 is beating it.

Maybe on consoles it is. PC multiplayer is alive and well on tons of 'smaller 'titles.

@PN04 yea it really is unfortunate how that works out. im not big on EA's new stance of "every game we publish will have multiplayer" now. its just going to lead to more wasted time and effort because no one will play them long term :/

@maveric101 Very classy.

Reach is a good game. One would certainly hope so, given the budget behind it. But obviously we're talking about multiplayer here, and Reach has changed a lot of the classic Halo formula. Basically the worse you are at it, the more you will probably like it. Bungie intended it to close the gap between good and bad players.

Besides, there's no counterpoint to the simple fact I stated. The latest Halo game is getting beaten by the *previous* CoD release. It's performing much worse than Halo 3 did in its lifetime, and that's just how it is. The numbers don't lie.

Agreed. The game's looking good but that logo has to go. It makes it look like a bargain bin Daikatana wannabe from 1999.

As a guy who likes nudity, I am so sick of the sexual pandering in games today.

I saw a video of Mortal Kombat vs DC Comics yesterday, and Soyna's nipples are poking thru her shirt. On the official site, her official pic has her nipples VISIBLE thru her shirt, as in the shirt's transparent.

Nudity in something like Mass Effect, story-driven, that's fine. Something like this? It just screams "NIPPLES, BUY ME!" When nudity is added for nudity's sake, just to get viewers or buyers (depending on if it's a movie or a game) it gets annoying.

A character like Bayonetta, which was designed with this in mind, and that's a large part of the gimmick of the game, this isn't as bad, because you know going in that's one of the points. It's also a very Japanese game and that's one of the things. But in this, it's like it's added soley to get the male audience. Which is effective, but it gets tired being pandered to all the time.

I just performed some surgery and made your post a lot more fun:

Nipples are poking thru her shirt. Nipples VISIBLE thru her shirt, as in the shirt's transparent. NIPPLES, BUY ME!". Nudity is added for nudity's sake. Bayonetta.

And,

"Nipples. BUY ME."

@Drakkenfyre I mostly agree, but I don't see how it being the point of Bayonetta makes it any less pandering. Even it's tongue in cheek and self aware, it's still really, really pandery. I also think that this and presumably all of the female characters designs in this game are as much designed with that in mind in Bayonetta. It is a Platinum game after all, it's pretty equivalent to the swearing and immaturity of Bulletstorm, it's part of the draw for most of their games

Because we ALL know how difficult it is to find nipples on the internet.

THANK GOD we have $60 games to show them to us (well somewhat covered anyway behind skin tight clothing) or we'd really be in a pickle!!!

Point missed.

I am not going at a prude angle.

I am tired of game developers going "Toss nipples (or other sexual stuff) in to get guys to buy it!"

It could be the worst game in the world, and "throw nipples in, guys will still buy it."

And up until this pont, I didn't realize this was the same developer as Bayonetta. I guess that explains alot.

Hey, look, it's a douchebag.

You must be 15. "Oh, boy, titties!", and gets your attention no matter how bad it may suck. "Hey, this game only has one button, and all it does is jump, but hey, titties!"

A relationship? It's a micro vignette between two characters that leads to the goal of sex. It's the same amount of immaturity as this, it's just more character fulfillment in this. No game actually handles relationships like relationships, and not I CANT WAIT TO SEX THIS POLYGON GIRL

I seem to recall that one of the articles mentioned a single player mode as well as the multiplayer, but it's entirely possible that I'm confusing it with another game. I do hope it has single player too, since Platinum is one of the best when it comes to the one player experience!

You could say the same thing about Epic's male characters. It's simply their style and ultimately just a matter of personal taste. But I respect your point of view nonetheless.
