Though there's nothing miniature about Pac-Man: Championship Edition -- or the manner in which it will absolutely devour your free time as you endlessly pursue the highest scores -- the title will be added to the PSN Minis catalog with tomorrow's update of the PlayStation Store.
The announcement of the game's imminence didn't include a price point, though it's guaranteed to arrive below the $10 ceiling that's been established for the platform. Considering the Mini-fied version of the game won't have any online support or leaderboards, we hope it arrives under that ceiling with room to spare.
Update: The price is right! $4.99.

Only took a couple of years but I am glad it is finally here. I can do without online support if shaves off $10 of the price to release as a mini.

This is cool, but in the light of Pac-Man: CE DX it doesn't interest me enough. Bring the latest and greatest!

Well it's a good and bad thing to have no online leaderboard support. Bad because there won't be anyone to essentially beat score wise other than one's self, driving replayabililty down a bit since you're only trying to best yourself or someone in your household. And good because you don't have to be completely depressed because someone at the top has a score you'll never ever EVER meet because they are so much better than you at this game.

My, but that is tempting. The first thing I thought of when I played CE was how good it'd be as handheld game.

So glad I can take the original CE on the go now. And I can play it on PS3 alongside CE DX- it's a notably simpler experience, but still a lot of fun, so anyone wondering whether to pick this up who already has DX should do so.
