@GordoJones88

But then the controls will be upside down. What about a mirror instead?

I don't care if it's backwards Beat. If it's anything like the previous Bit.trip games, it will have awesome music and offer a decent challenge.

...THIS is the final Bit.Trip? The game that should close the series in the most epic of notes?

Don't get me wrong, I loved Beat. But every single Bit.Trip game had more inventive gameplay than the one before it, from Beat's rhythm-Pong, to Fate's insane rhythm-shooting. And for the last, definitive, ultimate Bit.Trip... they literally mirror the first game's gameplay, only making it tougher. I honestly don't get people who think harder equals better.

Unless the actual game ends up having mindblowing surprises, Flux wil remain, in my mind, as an extremely disappointing excuse for a Bit.Trip game, replacing actual game design with difficulty.

@The Joy of Cooking DeMat

Yeah, I agree. I thought the last one would've been another genre of rhythm hybrid, or at least been an amalgam of gameplay from each entry. I'm kind of disappointed too, but hey, it's Gaijin. They've consistently surprised so far, so maybe there's more to flux that we haven't seen yet.

All I am expecting of this game is at least one game-changing surprise. I will not buy this game until I find out if such a surprise exists.

@The Joy of Cooking DeMat I think they're doing punter for narrative reasons. Bookends, all that stuff. Plus, they apparently are taking ideas from the other games and implementing them, according to a preview I read.

I've only played/bought Runner from the series and loved it (never beat it, 'tho)... I think I might give this one a shot as well, seems that kind of vicious addictive game... the "just one more try" 1000 times kind of addictive

What I loved about Beat was its eagerness to f*** with you. It wasn't tough-but-fair; it was unabashedly trying to confuse, mess with, and wrong-foot the player. Demons Souls is hard, but it never had this sense of a developer gleefully seeking to misdirect like a sadistic stage magician. Looks like Flux shares that enthusiasm.

I bought Beat and only played it a couple of times. (Damn you MW2...) I will have to get back into that and then check out some more of the Bit. Trip games.

So another 600 points to wish I could punch the developers?

Beat was hard. I don't know if I have the patience left to try all over again.
