Wow. That is a pretty game. Count me as one who supports the reimagining.

Video doesn't seem to work. All I see is an androgynous person in purple armor throughout the whole video, nothing else.

why couldn't they have left it as a beautiful 2D game?! the original Atari 2600 game was fun.

also wish they would dig deeper into Atari's archives, there are plenty of awesome 2D game re-imaginings I would totally buy.

what a shame. i'm a big fan of the original - what a stupid and generic direction to take this franchise. bummer

Yar's Revenge was one of my favorite Atari 2600 games I had when I was a kid. This is such an awesome choice to make into a modern retro arcade game. It came out in 1982 and was Atari's best selling original title for the 2600.

@GordoJones88 now that's surprising to hear...I liked yar's revenge back in the day but there were better games...like Pitfall! Or Popeye and Q-Bert. Strange.

WRT this game...it just makes me want a modern gen panzer dragoon :(

I'll definitely try it. My dad got me playing the original and it's easily my favorite Atari game.

Crap, there goes my Yar's Revenge remake, although mine was more in line with the original game. Maybe worth finishing (but renaming)!

Yar was a bug, and I'm pretty sure he was a male bug. The game wasn't a rails shooter, either.

.....it never once occured to me to remake yar's revenge... let alone that there was this much to the storyline of the weird shooter with the garbly bit in the middle that made no damn sense.

This reminds me of other 'recent' remakes of classic games, like Centipede and especially Galaga...

I don't understand why they said it was Miyazaki-inspired, it doesn't seem to bear much resemblance to his work.
