Limited edition Grand Theft Auto PS3 now up on eBay

You've already got an impressive GTA memorabilia collection, including that Vice City retail stand-up and actual warrant for your arrest for Grand Theft Auto -- however, if you need a crown jewel, check out this Episodes from Liberty City-branded, limited edition PS3 Slim on eBay.

The sexy, two-toned, LED-backlit console is one of a few pieces of hardware sent out as a promotional item by Rockstar last year. The auction is open for another six days or so, until the early hours of Sunday, February 9 (around 2AM ET).

That's pretty sexy. At the time of this post it's at $399.99 after 4 bids with six days to go. Too rich for my blood.

Something feels kinda dirty about this. Like it seems crappy he was in a contest for a system he didn't even want, and now he's just gonna sell it to make cash? Seems pretty lame. Rockstar may as well have just sent him a check instead, and gave the system to someone who'd appreciate it.

That black, white, and gold is sexy. Damn!

They should actually sell systems like that. They would have my $ if they did.

I wish it wasn't glossy I hate that style finger print city :~/ but this still looks awesome I'm going to invest in Ps3 this year..

Not that one. You can see the reflection of the room in the white part and a bit of light reflection in the black part near the corner.

I wonder if this guy/gal has seen the list of Ps3 exclusives coming out this year. o___o

Or maybe he just wants the money more than a special edition PS3 and checking the ebay listing confirms this: "The reason why I am selling it is because I already have a launch PS3 and am fully satisfied with it."

Considering I'm not a massive fan of GTA but am a fan of backwards compatibility, I'd do the same.

Yeah, I felt the same way before. But my 60GB has now failed from overheating problems for the 2nd time. I took it apart the first time, carefully cleaned it all out, put in new thermal paste and a more efficient fan, and reseated the motherboard connections with a heat gun. All of that just bought me 2 more months, and now it's dead again. So I won't be buying another launch PS3, their heat management is horrific, and they're all on borrowed time.

if only i could afford it, i'd own it.

Awww man! That's effin' awesome! I'm huge GTA fan and would LOVE to have that. But unfortunately I just can't spend that kind of money on a collectable. I wonder just how much it will actually sell for? Any guesses? I say $750...

Why would the owner possibly want to sell this; this is like one of those special lucky things to happen to somebody and to just sell it for 500$, :P i know i would keep it forever

while it's pretty cool, i'll admit i'd have it up for sale as well...

not being the hugest GTA fan in the world, a standard PS3 is good enough for me, although a red one to match my controller would be nice too...
