The official THQ online store (which has the new logo that's look like it's asking, "THQ?") is sporting some spiffy sales this weekend, offering some pretty great games for just a few bucks. The highlight of the sale is probably Metro 2033, which for the PC is only $10. But you can also find Company of Heroes: Gold Edition for only $7.50, the underrated (I said it) Darksiders for $10, and Red Faction: Guerilla and Titan Quest: Gold Edition for only $5 a piece.
They're not all winners (hey there, World of Zoo), but if you need to catch up on some PC titles, THQ (?) has you covered.

There was a glitch on the Nvidia site that people were exploiting for a free copy of Metro 2033.

This is a pretty damn good sale. I thought this was the part of the year where I save money from buying games? :-\
Can't believe we're at a point where we have too many good dames/deals at one time. *scared of the future*

I just downloaded the Metro 2033 demo today, and damn, I severely underestimated how amazing this game looks. Freakin' gorgeous.

Well, I have a PC, but I wouldn't call it a gaming rig.
I just put a new Nvidia GT240 in it, so I could run World of Warcraft a little better, but.. I've found that it also runs other games pretty well, which is a nice bonus. Mass Effect 2 and Metro look damn sexy, so.. I'm thinking I might start trying to pick up more PC games on sale and whatnot, now that I can actually run stuff pretty well on here.

It's well worth the $10, I still recommend it to friends for full price.

After so many sales, there is no reason anyone should not own darksiders at this point.

I don't think I can ever like that logo, I'm not saying the older one was better but for me this one they chose is just an eyesore.

Titan Quest Gold for $5 is a great deal for anyone who likes Diablo-clones. Its Diablo set in Ancient Greece, with a ridiculous amount of equipment and quests and a good story.

Just tried ordering it but apparently the offer isn't open to Canadians.
So much for me hoping to get a Zelda fix before Skyward Sword's release.

It's a mix of a bunch of different influences really.
The dungeons/ puzzles are like Zelda, it's combat and weapons are like God of War, Devil May Cry and other hack and slashes; The aesthetic reminds me of God of War as well with a bit of WH40K thrown in.
But all in all it's still a great game even if it sometimes seems like a remix. It holds together on its own well.

I bought Darksiders and DoW: Chaos Rising two days ago via this sale. For anyone wondering, you can activate most of these games via Steam after being bought via the THQ Store. =D

I'm not sure about Red Faction but I know Metro 2033 can be activated on Steam.

THC games are on sale every 3 days on Steam. Seriously when are their games not on sale?
Posted: Feb 5th 2011 11:04PM Kindrik said
@Esposch You sure? All I kept hearing about Darksiders when it came out was that it was the best Zelda game people had played in years.

@Kindrik Combat is very similar to GOW. objectives are more along the lines of zelda (find a key, open door, blow wall up with bomb, boomerang, etc)

Sadly. Their store doesn't offer this to Non-US residents. Pretty lame.

Do not get Saints Row 2, it's a terrible port with really bad frame rate.

Darksiders underrated? I would say that most people think highly of the game, me included.

If you don't own Dawn of War II yet you really need to get it. A great RTS that was sadly overshadowed by StarCraft 2. As a bonus the game activates on steam.

I was totally jumping on this until I saw that they charged you $5 for an "extended download service." What is that?
"Simply purchase EDS as part of your order. We’ll automatically store on our server a back-up copy of the software that you purchased and downloaded for two (2) years from the date of purchase. System crash? Hard disk error? No Worries! You can re-download your files anytime during your extended protection period"
They'll store on their server a back-up copy of my software. A back-up of my software, just for me? Is this like, cloud support? No. They're just lying. What they mean is "For two years, we'll let you have access to the software ALREADY SITTING ON OUR SERVERS, BECAUSE IT HAS TO BE FOR YOU TO DOWNLOAD IT IN THE FIRST PLACE." They COULD just offer infinite redownloads like EVERY ONE of their real competitors, but that would just be too easy.
Dicks.

Does anyone know what their DRM is like on their Digital Distributed games? The only reason I ask is because I will never buy from EA seeing that you can only re-download your games from them within a year of purchase. After that, you need to repurchase a game you already bought.

@WickedCobra03 I got a few games from THQ the other day and they offer what basically amounts to "download insurance" where they claim they will keep your file on a server for two years... it costs an extra $5, but you can decline it. I just activated my games on Steam and now they are attached to my account there for downloading anytime.
