Xbox Live House Party titles (Beyond Good & Evil HD, Torchlight) dated, priced
64
Just in the nick of time, Microsoft has announced dates and prices for its month-long Xbox Live Arcade House Party promotion. Things kick off on February 16 with Arc System Works' not-Contra side-scroller, Hard Corps: Uprising, priced at 1200 points ($15), followed by PopCap's Bejeweled Blitz on February 23, for 800 points ($10).
Things really get moving on March 2, when Beyond Good & Evil HD is released for the eminently reasonable price of 800 points. The last two releases will undoubtedly gather the most attention: the excellent, heretofore computer-bound, dungeon crawler Torchlight will be released on March 9 for 1200 points, while Microsoft's Live-enabled Full House Poker makes its debut on March 16 for a surprisingly low 800 points.

Fantastic. March 9th for Torchlight it is then.

@Hong Dong I'm absolutely excited for it. I have Steam, however, I have a Mac for graphic design-type stuff so while there's a good enough library on Steam, I generally assumed most stuff I want isn't there. BUT, after some good ol' fashioned Googlin', found out Torchwood IS on Mac Steam. GETTING IT NOWWWW. :D As I will also get the XBL version. W00t.

Beyond Good & Evil HD for $10 is better than a lot of $60 games.

@choffy21 I am very surprised and happy at this price. Looks like I can finally see what the hubbub is all about.

@choffy21 - I was expecting $15, in line with the horribly classified "HD" Prince of Persia games Ubisoft cranked out.
Glad it's $10. Will definitely be rebuying this game.

Still waiting for word on Beyond Good & Evil HD's PS3 release date. Really want to get my hands on it but no news yet.

Agreed. I have it on PC, but I'd much rather have it on PS3.

Oh Full House Poker is so getting bought now. Going to force my friends list to get it too.
800 points is the perfect pricepoint, i'll probably get the WP7 version as well.
If theres a deal I'll probably get them all, Hard Corps might be a bit of a push but we shall see.

Ah, didn't realize there were 5 games.
Looks like it will just be Torchlight, Beyond Good and Evil and FHP for me.

I get the reference, but you did screw it up. Supposed to be House Party look like House Party 2 (or house party 3!) (shutup, cracka!)
Supposed to mean this is so sweet it makes the original look like the sequel (which is arguably worse in all cases)
Sorry to burst your mojo.

I already have Torchlight and BG&E on Steam, but I'm still awfully tempted.

Beyond Good & Evil is gonna be great in HD... but I'm not sure on Torchlight. Games that cater to a PC audience don't often do well on consoles.

I'd have to disagree here. I preferred Diablo on PS1 to PC if for no other reason I could move my guy with a D-Pad versus stupid click to move mechanics. They're supposed to be rebuilding Torchlight for consoles, so I have faith in them.

I'd pick up Torchlight again if it had multiplayer (online or off), but will have to pick up BG&E again, it's HD! (hopefully that means widescreen too, my Steam version's widescreen is just stretched).

BG&E for $10?
I cannot find a reason to not buy it.

@FlashJS
They had no intentions of having the Poker game be free. Its been commonly known that it will have a price, although the exact price was unknown. Its silly to expect anything free from Microsoft, especially considering they charge for online gaming.

@FlashJS Id rather it be free of course but at least MS can't pull the rug out from everyone who purchases it unlike fans of 1vs100.
I'm all in on the game 800 points sounds reasonable if the games doesn't lag or randomly boot me out of the game/parties like the freebie did.

This is awesome but I would think that booting up Torchlight or Beyond Good and Evil HD would pretty much kill any social atmosphere going on at a house party pretty quick. Those are both thoughtful single player deals.

Wait, do you invite other people to your House Parties? Oooh, that's what I've been doing wrong. Quick, where are my pants?

Nothing for me here, unfortunately. I'm already about 90% of the way through Torchlight on my PC and see no reason to start over again on consoles. :D
Plus, I've beaten BG&E before. Great game, but I would like to spend my money on new games first and wait on getting the remakes & rereleases of games I already own until I have more money.

Beyond Good and Evil it is. Very good price. On the fence about Torchlight and Hard Corps...
I love the look of Hard Corps and couch co-op games are outstanding. I'll probably wait for a sale though...
I'm looking forward to being one of those crazed BG & E fans that is eagerly awaiting a true sequel.
