inFamous 2 'Hero Edition' appears briefly on Amazon, includes Cole's bag

If a recently uploaded (then swiftly removed) Amazon listing for an inFamous 2 "Hero Edition" was legitimate, then the gaming community might just solve one of life's great mysteries when the Sucker Punch sequel comes out later this year: What the heck is in Cole McGrath's little backpack? The answer: A thermos, a Nintendo DS, some comic books, a half-empty bottle of flat soda, an ancient Crunchy Peanut Butter Clif Bar, and a tube of assorted Pogs and Slammers. In other words, the essential objects we carry with us when forced to leave the safe confines of our domestic abodes.

Yes, one of the bonuses listed with the Hero Edition -- alongside an 8.5" Cole MacGrath statue, a voucher that gives access to new powers, weapons and character skins, an inFamous comic from DC Comics, and the game's soundtrack -- is a "Replica Cole MacGrath sling pack." We must have one, if only so that we can be halfway to becoming a city-climbing crimebuster. (All we'd need is, you know, powers. And courage. Like, any courage at all would help.)

The special edition also includes a $99.99 price tag, and a super unofficial May 24 release date. We've contacted Sony for more details about ... well, everything.

I'm all over this. Here's to hoping the bag is sturdy and won't fall apart in six months.

If that's what the bag looks like, it might actually be worth the extra $40 for all that stuff. InFamous 1 was fantastic.

Finally I can go around the city like Cole...granted im a fat nerd who is unable to climb a single wall...and im a klutz as well...oh well theres no harm in trying

does anyone know if amon tobin contributed to the soundtrack again? here's hoping that, since sucker punch probably had a bigger budget this time around, they didn't decide to go with some orchestral fluff bullshit for the soundtrack.

I so hope it's better then the GTAIV bag. That thing broke on me day one.

it looks sweet, but yes, it is total garbage! mine lasted a whole week before one of the zippers broke. i friggin' pissed since the bag was the main reason i shelled out for the collector's edition.

What could happen: The company goes out, actually buys backpacks in this style, and includes them with the edition.

What will probably happen: Company will make ultra-thin replicas, which will tear at the slightest strain, be unusable as a packback, and be 1/3rd the actual size.

The only thing mentioned that I care about is that unofficial release date. Hell, we've already known when Uncharted 3 is coming out for 2 months, but there's still no official date for Infamous 2, which will likely release in the spring or summer?

It now seems that sling backpacks are in style in video games. First Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and now inFamous. If the size of the backpack in the hero edition isn't too small I may actually pick one up.

personally I don't get why desmond has one. he's inside with friends, take it off, get comfortable. who lays down on a chair with a backpack on?

And I think that the reason Desmond has the backpack is because thats where he will keep all his weapons in the third game.

Damn I missed The Image Of The Bag ! If The Bag Is A Good Size I'l Buy This Edition.

This may be the very first special edition I ever buy. If the bag is built well and it fits tight I'll use it while freerunning.

Unless the bag is big enough for an infant to wear, consider this preordered by when it's available.

I think its Cole McGrath... that said, sounds cool. I'd definitely buy.

I hope it is accurate replica with Sly logo.

Ehhh, the Halo legendary editions were like 130 dollars, and neither of them came with a fully usable leather satchel. I get the unfortunate feeling that the bags will either be full size but terribly shitty and poorly made, or the same kind of "replica" as Dead Space 2's Plasma Cutter
