I admit, I lol'd so hard at that. I woke my girlfriend up.

Maybe it's wine talking, but I think I would have lol'd sober anyway.

Why on earth is Valentine's day such a big sale day for video games all of a sudden? What are publishers trying to say about gamers?

@Hoops
I believe it's because of the Verizon iPhone's coming onto the app store.
Whatever is at the top of the list is going to sell MANY more copies, and these sales are the best way to get your app into the top 25, regardless of quality.

@Hoops

I think Valentine's day is just the excuse for the sales but the publishers probably just want to get their games bumped up into the top 25 or top 50 paid apps list while all of the Verizon users recieve their new iphones. Thats was part of the motivation behind EA's Christmas sale.

Grabbed Phoenix Wright and Phantasy Star II. They aren't mentioned in the article, but both Ghosts n' Goblins games are on sale for a buck.

I have it, and I didn't love it even though I love Katamari. I found it an exercise in frustration trying to work with the tilt controls.

The tilt controls are crap, but thankfully there's a lite version to see if you can stand them. I personally can manage for some portable rolling, though I pine for a virtual analog stick option...

@boredasfook Tell me about it, I bought COD Zombies iPhone when it was £5.99, bought the 2 map packs for £2.99 each and then they condensed it all into a £2.99 package for everything!

It has 5 levels and they just added a 6th through update. Hopefully they add more. The tilt controls are a little harsh at first but you can percision your roll with some touch controls. It's worth it if you love Katamari (pun intended)

Sega Sale is up for 7 days, sooooo ... it'll end on the 15th.

"Sega has also joined in on the 99-centery, with a Valentine's Day-themed sale whose contents don't actually have much to do with Valentine's Day."

We've got a couple co-op games in there - Golden Axe, Gunstar Heroes, Chu-Chu Rocket (mutlplayer anyway) and Streets of Rage.

I guess the Valentine's Day stuff is just because we love you, the fan! Pass that love on to someone you love...

@DCGX Really? Most of these sale titles are games designed for consoles shoved onto iDevices. I'd understand if you're craving something like Infinity Blade or Tilt to Live, but you're not missing much.

I'm mostly interested in SFIV and Sonic 4. But more so it's the lack of quality games in general. I realize it's a newer platform than iOS, and I know Google and developers are working on it too.

Yeah it suprises me when more devs dont port their fighting games to ios. I would enjoy blazblue, tekken, soul calibur, kof, etc. I thought some were porting games like namco but apparently they never got around to putting em' on the store! give us more fighting games!!! (except the genesis vf which was bad from what I've heard.)

@Accessgranted Wait... Blazblue on iOS? You are kidding, right? Even if they port with the "beginner/noob" control scheme, it would be terrible... to play... it's a fast fighting game, just enough to not be playable on iOS...
