I love the autoname feature in the game.

@JohnFordColey I had the original PC games, and I put my name "Jason" in once and was impressed when the announcer said my name. But she never did it again. This was in "The Ride". Shame, Jason is such a common name, of course they could put it in the system. Don't know why it only happened once though.

Guys, when you post reviews, can you have some standard place where you mention which platforms the game is available for?

You can use the "Game Info" sidebar, or you can use the footer text where you explain what code you reviewed on.

Usually I can figure it out, but sometimes it gets really obnoxious if it's a game I'm not familiar with.

It says next to the article title on the main page before you jump into any posts.

It should be appearing in the top right of the title bar, above the review.

But if you get here from a link on Facebook you are left guessing.

I agree that it would be very helpful if it were listed inside of the post as well.

I think those icons are just generated by the editor-selected tags, which tend to be flaky at best.

For example, I found out this game is released on PC, but you can't tell from the icons.

Also, I frequently want to know whether a release is downloadable (XBLA/PSN) or retail, and there is no way to tell from the icons.

I never saw it there either. However, I figured out why I don't see it in Firefox. AdBlock blocks it. For some reason, the script that puts them there is being blocked by AdBlock. First, I thought it was NoScript, but disabling that didn't make it appear. Disabling AdBlock did make it appear, but then I tried to find what it was blocking so I could just re-enable that instead of stopping AdBlock altogether. The only 2 listed for this page didn't make it appear, even after enabling those lines.

Good find. From what I remember, Joystiq's ads sometimes pop up over the page and can be somewhat obtrusive. It's not worth it to me to permanently disable AdBlock for Joystiq.

I love it so far, but I don't know where you paid $40 for it, everywhere I looked online and Gamestop had it for $30, which is even more of a great price for it.

I think it was 40 until a couple weeks ago. I paid 30 for it. They probably dropped it assuming people didn't want to pay that much for a trivia game. Worth every penny though.

Huh, you're right. Amazon lists the MSRP at $40, and the prices are lowered on Xbox and PS3, but not quite to $40. But GameStop has it at a flat $29.99 (which, to be fair, is what Justin originally had it listed at in here). Updated to new price.

You're right about the online. It's kind of pointless too. I played up to question 3 last night and every time everyone answered the question as soon as possible. They all knew the answers which ruined the experience completely. A good group of friends or family is where this becomes more enjoyable.

2 things missed in the review: 1.)retail price is actually $29.99, at least everywhere I've looked it is, 2.) This game fully supports the Big Button Controllers from the Scene It games.

Picked this game up yesterday and totally love it. Lots of memories playing YDKJ back in the day.

One note, I'm sure it'll be corrected, but I'm pretty sure it's $30 for the retail versions of the game.

This sounds wonderful. I love me some You Don't Know Jack.

Quick side note, though: yes, the retail releases have been few and far between, but the free online version that had 100 episodes - and ended, I think, in 2009? maybe? anyways, that one - was superb. Seriously, if you've never played a YDKJ game before, you should check it out to get a good feel for what the games are like.

Does it really offer enough bang for your buck though? I remember when the website had free ydkj via flash. 70 rounds will probably last a little while but get old quickly. Sure there will be DLC but this is paid dlc right?

@C1 If every episode is approximately 15 minutes and there are 70 episodes, that's 17.5 hours of gameplay. That's the low end. Compare that to most games these days and the price and you've got an amazing value.

This review made my day. I was hoping the game wouldn't suck, and apparently it doesn't. Good to know. It's also good to know they went with the 11-question format introduced with The Ride; 7 questions was too short and 21 went on too long.

Is this one of those versions where all the questions are multiple choice? I don't really like those because the answer is right there in front of your face. The good questions from YDKJ or any trivia game, for that matter, are the kind where you don't see or hear the answer first and must type (or in the case of a board game) say it out loud.

This is why the Scene It! Xbox game is trash imo compared to the board game. Seeing the answer among a list of choices completely dispels the "it's on the tip of my tounge" excitement. The ONLY thing nice about these console versions are the handheld buzzers (i.e. the Scene It! ones or just using a standard controller).

The PC version of YDKJ kind of sucked when it came to buzzers cause you pretty much had to hug your opponents the whole time in order to put one of 3 hands on the keyboard.

@WeirdingWay yes its multiple choice, but alot of the times the answers are so muddled that it can be hard to nail one down without thinking for a second. you'll need to think to get alot of these right.

Guess they backed out of it for some reason. I own a kinect and I wouldn't even want this game to be kinect enabled. Just seems like trivia games like this should use controllers.
