Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood for PC gets 3D, multiple monitor support
30
Ubisoft Germany has posted a video detailing the new features included in the PC version of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. German site GameStar (translation) has also posted a breakdown of the unique features and improvements. Apart from some graphical enhancements over the console releases, the PC version will also add support for 3D displays and multiple monitors.
Specifically, the PC release will support Nvidia 3D Vision and AMD's Eyefinity tech. The latter allows players to link together multiple monitors for some really widescreen views of Renaissance Italy. Presumably, the technology also helps you feel better about purchasing so many monitors.
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is slated to pounce onto PC sometime this quarter (before April).

Does this have DRM?
That was a stupid question, of COURSE it has DRM...

@Gibbeynator I think all of the recent titles released with that ghastly DRM have had it altered retroactively so that you only need to connect to the Ubisoft servers during installation. Hopefully they'll run with that from the beginning with Brotherhood.

They should just suck it up and get rid of it. They're just using it now because they don't want to lose face, not because it is effective in any way. It worked for a few weeks when it first arrived because it was such a new concept, now cracking it has become routine. It's pointless and doesn't help anyone.

Gee, I wonder if that was supposed to be derogatory.
It's well worth the cash I spent on it, now will all you jealous console fanboys stop bashing it?

@thelolotov I wouldn't put too much weight into the snide remark about mutimonitor gaming. Sadly these kinds of comments are all to common on the tech sites, instead of genuine excitement for the technology they are reporting on, we get immature, silly comments that are supposed to be funny. Frankly it comes off as amateurish, and boring. Sure, there is nothing wrong with having a sense of humor, but the vast number of these kinds of comments get old fast.

I wont feel jelous playing on my 50inch TV.
Sure I could have 3 21inches side by side. But why bother when I can have a single 50.

Because the pixel density offered on tv's is utter crap compared to a single computer monitor? Let alone multiple monitors.

Max resolution of someone playing on their 1080p, 50" screen = 1920x1080
Max resolution of three 1080p, 21" monitors 5760x3240
(these could also be 50" TVs if you'd like.)

not the best example from the skewing, but it shows you how higher resolutions affect the viewing area

@Draugdraugr
just to correct my error, the triple display would be a resolution of
5760x1080 -- I got a little excited with my math
Still looks amazing though :)

@thelolotov Sooooo he's a console fanboy, even though he is reporting on a PC game? Is that the weird logic you tried to sum up there?
I think this multiple monitor vs big t.v. debate in some cases just comes down to certain people don't like putting up with the lines around the monitor, showcasing tiny although noticeable gaps.
If you can deal with it, or better yet, don't notice it at all, fantastic! More power to you, but there will always be people ((such as myself)) who are off put by all of the edges.
Much in the same way some peoples problem with 3D technology is wearing glasses. Its to noticeable to them that "Hey, I have this silly thing on my face" where as others, its no big deal.

@This Little Man Says His Name Is Well I have both, a 50in plasma and 3x 23in LCD's in eyefinity. Needless to say I much prefer the eyefinity setup and regret purchasing this game on the 360. I might sell it to my brother and buy the PC copy though...

Having two 23 inch monitors next to each other would be a dream. And having a computer that could blast giants and decimate empires to complement it would be GRAND.
So i could play this game and tears would fall down my cheeks

Well, I have multiple monitors but not a 3D-ready monitor.
But seriously, multi monitor support alone is VERY exciting. Seems like good show-off opportunity :p

There are few games that work well with Eyefinity 6, this will hopefully be one of them.

I enjoyed Assassin's Creed 2 in eyefinity. It was like a whole new game. I'm sure it will be the same for Brotherhood on PC.
Day one for me, even though I already own the PS3 version.

I still don't think I've seen anyone who's used ATi's eyefinity tech with multiple projectors. It has the capability to blend multiple projector images into one solid image, this would make for a great game to test that on.
Also don't think I've seen anyone do 3x 50" lcd's or anything crazy like that though it's entirely possible and wouldn't be that expensive, about $2000 or so which is nothing compared to what I've seen gamers spend on just the computers themselves. Put a couch in the middle of this setup and get a wireless x360 controller for PC and you'd have one hell of a gaming setup. And pixel density doesn't mean much, a 20" 1080P screen may have a much higher pixel density, but your also sitting far closer to it, so really unless your sitting within 3-4ft. of your 50" or whatever size HDTV then you really won't be able to tell the difference all that much.

Wish I would have waited for the PC version instead of already having played through the PS3 version, which had absolutely awful tearing. I wish Ubisoft would release the PC versions of games anywhere near the console versions.

Glad to hear it's still coming out on PC. Maybe now i can play without the awful tearing, horrible pop in and overall laggy gameplay. Only reason I'm playing right now on the PS3 is to satisfy the craving for creed.
