Duke Nukem Forever 'Balls of Steel' Edition: Is this some kind of bust?

If you thought Duke Nukem Forever was tacky before, wait until you see the collector's edition. Well, we suppose you've already seen the collector's edition -- that's it above.

The "Balls of Steel" Edition (yep), revealed to DNF "First Access Club" members, is overloaded with stuff, including a hardcover artbook, postcards, a logo sticker, a comic book, poker chips, dice, playing cards, a foldable papercraft, and -- oh yeah -- a bust of Duke Nukem. There's even a numbered certificate of authenticity, to prove to others that it's the genuine article. Notable omissions include steel stress balls and, in fact, anything spherical or metal.

The Balls of Steel Edition will be available in limited quantities for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC at launch (the week of May 3).

Update: 2K has provided additional details in its press release (in full after the break), revealing that the Balls of Steel Edition will be exclusive to Amazon and GameStop in North America -- for $100.

@MLC That's funny, considering at the time of my writing, it is not possible to pre-order this yet. Not on Amazon and Gamestop only has the listings, but cannot pre-order just yet.

Wouldn't want that bust in my house. Girlfriend would fall in love with Duke and break up with me. Guaranteed.

So, where's that sexy controller they showed in the trailer? I know it was an in-game asset, but I would've paid buttloads of cash for that controller alone. They're missing out on a great opportunity.

No clue on this. After I was given the "happy meal" edition of the plasma cutter from the ridiculous Dead Space 2 Collectors edition, and its lame postcard....I am just too weary and suspicious of so called "collectors editions" now. I think I'll wait on this...

They should put the actual balls of steel pinball game in with this.

A statue of Duke holding up two pistols with a Stripper on each side hanging on would have been ALOT COOLER and worth the price. :( kinda let down

buying this day 1 for PC.

Buying this on day 180, when it'll be $50.

I was really hoping it would come with a copy of "Why I'm So Great" by Duke Nukem.

Kinda odd that despite the title of Balls of Steel, there's nothing of steel in the collection. I would've expected maybe a steel-case for the game? Otherwise, very tempting edition, may have to consider it.

I really want this collector edition but something tells me that duke nukem statue is going to be really cheap. so I'm gonna pass until someone do a review on the collection edition.

I'll take a $70 with the art book and comic book. Don't need the oter crap that'll sit in the box.

People that didn't understand the name of the Collector's shouldn't even touch or see it, for they never played the original!
