Monday Night Combat receives 'Steamy Valentine' update

There are two distinctly wonderful things included in Uber Entertainment's latest patch for the PC version of Monday Night Combat -- appropriately titled the "Steamy Valentine" update. The first is a cornucopia of Valentine's Day-related new content, including some lovey-dovey character skins, a pink paint job for the game's much abused mascot, and a "Rose Petal Death Effect" for anyone who gets got while wearing the new Valentine's gear. Also posted after the jump is the second of the update's big surprises: A music video, in which Bullseye professes his undying love for Pit Girl in the smoothest fashion imaginable. It is not to be missed under any circumstances.

New Features

Added "You are My Pitgirl" Realtime Music Video for all you dreamers out there
Added Crimson Gear for all Pros
Added Broken Heart Headshot Effect for Snipers wearing Crimson Gear
Added Rose Petal Death Effects for all Pros wearing Crimson Gear
Players will now earn different "Bot Kill Streaks" when killing bots without dying in Crossfire matches
Graphics options have been moved out of HostileEngine. You will still have one more graphics reset with this patch, but all future updates should be reset-free.
Uber is now shipping a list of banned players. The list has been compiled and vetted by the community and Uber. Individual server admins will now have to remove these player from their HostileAccess.ini file if they wish to allow cheaters on their servers. The default will be to globally ban known cheaters.

Adjustments

Players no longer receive bonus juice at the start overtime or when they respawn in overtime
Auto balancing of teams will no longer activate if either Moneyball has its shield down
Updated Bullseye with festive colors
Changed Character Select Screen layout and added player names
Emphasized Locker Room in main menu
Turned on over head player names during Moneyball finale

Fixes

Fixed server name from disappearing on dedicated servers when matches roll over
Fixed class limits being offset in the server browser
Fixed class limit lockout issues on character selection
Fixed Assassin's dash becoming unusable
Fixed Preseason Hero Gear not unlocking for some people
Fixed end-game chat window getting lost if the scoreboard was already visible
Fixed controller sensitivity not working at highest and lowest settings

so the ONE game multiplatform game i get on XBLA instead of Steam only gets updates on PC. awesome. not that i really care about this one but i will take this into account for future PC vs Xbox purchases.

yeah you're right. don't know why i thought this would be any different. maybe because it was a XBLA game first.

@kojo87 I hear you on this one. I bought this game during the December bonus event, figuring aw hell, it seems decent and will probably never come to PC. I normally NEVER buy this type of game on console.

Then, the next week...it gets announced for PC.

To add insult to injury, the X360 version's crossfire mode seems to be completely FUBAR by the game's own encouragement of pub-stomping, which often leads to spawn-camping.

Worst waste of $15 I have ever spent. Never again.

oh i completely stopped playing Crossfire. whoever thought that was a balanced game design needs their head checked. the better you do the better your skills become. and no game should have a class that is way faster than anyone else, can kill you and stay invisible and do one hit kills. if all you do is practice with Assassin you can just destroy everyone. and i thought the Scout in TF2 was bad...

If you think the Assassin is the most overpowered class in the game, YOU need your head checked.

Yeah, I was quite proud of that one, steamy... steam, ha! We have too much fun with this game.

Really wish I would have bought this when it came out and played it periodicly; im sure the competition is to ruff to consider a purchase this late in the game and if there is still a community of ppl still playing it; iono is there?

I never realized how tall the assassin is until I looked at this picture. According to the tutorial, the Assault is 6'6" and she looks just as tall as him. Well, they ARE genetically enhanced clones...

Nice to see the 360 version's been suitably abandoned.

I have no doubt that Uber Entertainment would love to release patches for its game as often as it can.

If they had tried to release this on the XBLA, we'd be getting Valentine's stuff for Easter.

Until Microsoft fixes its broken content/patch authorization process, we'll never see updates on XBLA like we do on the PC.
