It would seem that publishers are supporting the wrong music games...

(psst - DJ Hero 2 could use more awesome DLC...)

Cars, Katy Perry, and Akon are the only new DLC on that list. The others were already DLC and for some reason decided to re-re-release them.

Nearly all the DLC is just a release of the tracks from the I Love the 80s disc. It wasn't released in the US or Canada, just in Europe. If the song this month is an 80's track, it's on a disc. What really blows is if you want the additional 250 achievements offered for the 80s disc, you won't get it via DLC, it has to come from the disc. Glad I imported it.

@Deezul AwT How do you play EU games on a US console? Aren't they PAL and we NTSC?

@squidget The PAL version works fine on my NTSC 360. Someone on the Xbox Forums took a chance with the game and it worked fine, so a bunch of other folks imported, myself included.

Lips is indeed fun. Plastic instruments may be no more, but Karaoke is timeless. Glad to see they're still supporting the game to an extent.

Music games aren't dead at all, and I wish people would stop saying that.

They're just going back to their roots now, and the wheat is being separated from the chaff.

H thought I noticed some of those songs coming up for purchase in the music store all ready.I love lips when I first got it 2 months ago I spent 80 bucks on DLC and invited some friends over to play. I can't wait til the final music from the 80s disc is released so we can get to some more new stuff hopefully.

I will be pruchasing the Katy Perry songs though hopefulyl they put them in a pack so I can save a few points.

I'm not saying Lips is bad, but it annoys me when I look for newly released Rock Band DLC and I have to scroll past a thousand Lip songs every week to read them.

My question is why play a singing only game when games like Rock Band offer singing, and other options?

@MinimumWageNinja As a vocalist, I would agree and disagree. I've been playing singing games since Harmonix first developed Karaoke Revolution. At the time it was fine since band games didn't exist then, but they do now, so everyone has a chance to join in. But that doesn't mean I should abandon other music games just because RB is the big one. Not every song will make it to RB, just as songs making it on Lips. It's mostly preference and the fact that karaoke is a much bigger influence since people have been doing it for decades.

tl;dr I like playing Rock Band and singing games, I have no preference.
