The Gunstringer branded an Xbox Live Arcade title on Xbox.com
14
Twisted Pixel has yet to confirm the distribution method for its forthcoming puppeteer Western for Kinect, The Gunstringer, but the title's Xbox.com listing (pictured) indicates that the game is bound for Xbox Live Arcade. If accurate, this would make The Gunstringer the first American-developed Kinect title confirmed for XBLA (don't forget about those planned XBLA Kinect games from Japan); though it wouldn't be a huge surprise, given that all of TP's games have either been released on or are in development for XBLA.
Twisted Pixel has declined to comment on the listing, leaving a little suspense in the air.

Sounds about right. It'll give people a chance to try the concept before committing.

This is a win for everyone if it is. Most Kinect titles to date haent been game changing. Dont get me wrong. I love my Kinect, but the games I have bought havent seemed worth the full retail deal. If they release this for XBLA and keep it at 1600 points or around there it would get more people to play it and might show more people what could be for Kinect. Also being able to play sitting down is a win for sure.

I'm interested in how the mechanics of this game actually play out. I'm a bit skeptical in how the finger-gun recoil is used to shoot.

Excellent. What the Kinect needs are App-like/Quick Casual Play games that will come for less than $15 a piece.
It would only make sense since Twisted Pixel makes SUPERB XBLA games in the first place :D
Will buy Day 1!

Not sure how the distribution is a surprise. I've seen this advertised on xbl for at least a week.

That would increase my likely hood of buying this about 100 fold. Looks like a really neat and fun game, but I don't think I could justify buying it as a retail disk / price.

I wonder why those Japanese companies dont go full release? They all sound better on paper than many of the Kinect titles out now.
I need release dates is what I'm saying. NOW.

I wasn't expecting to be a retail game

Wasn't he like, a skeleton in the preview video? Now he looks normal up in the corner.

Such a good idea! Kinect games tend to be casual-friendly, which makes them way more appealing at the price of an XBL game. Plus it's far less investment for the developer! The only downside is that casual gamers are much less aware of XBL games, but hopefully proper publicity can solve that.

Great News.
I was worried this was going to be a $60 retail game. If anyone can create a compelling kinect gaming experience in XBLA, it's Twisted Pixel.
Hoping it's no more than 1200 msp.
