Are you sick of using the Kinect to play games which allow you to actually dance? Modder MMaximus' newest Kinect hack might seem like a step backwards for the genre, but it's a major step forwards for StepMania technology. (And a step to the left! And a step to the right! Now jump!)

The question remains, between the two what form of playing this game makes you seem like a bigger goof ball.

pretty cool. wow, Stepmania is a blast from the past. i use to make my own steps for songs too with the Dancing Monkeys step generator. stepmania works on the pc and the old xbox 1. heck, my PS2 pads are still somewhere in the garage, ready for busting out if the occasion calls for it.

That's cool... but did he/she even check where the hell the camera was pointing? I'm not that interested in which OS you're running.

Someone ought to develop a Dance Central/Dance Masters mod for that!

Major step forward for StepMania technology (what technology would that be? it's basically the same game that ran happily on a PS1), major step backward for StepMania gameplay. Unless you really love getting a combo that's barely past single digits on beginner mode, I guess.
Don't get me wrong, respect to the guy for doing this and everything - it's another cool-but-useless Kinect hack. Nothing wrong with that. But if anyone actually thinks this is a good idea - yeah, no.

@xxxsam It could be developed commercially and then we could have DDD, Pump It Up and Para Para with Kinect support and full 1:1 body detection. You see, we don't need those ugly GH avatars, just give us a good looking SD video for each song and focus on Kinect, and that's a winner!
