Any news about the PC version getting AA support?

I don't see what's so confusing about having to download the title update separately. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 also used this updating method.

@Iwa - As did Criterion's previous game, Burnout: Paradise.

$7 for each sounds good to me. I mean, I'd be happier with $5 each, but it's less than $10. $7 for two new race modes, at least, sounds hott. I guess the $7 for the car packs will depend on how many cars you get.

Overall? Pleased.

@ilduce620 For some reason I feel like the car and event packs should be less expensive, like $5. I'm fine with $7 for the new modes.

I'll probably just wait till the inevitable sale.

Only ten missions per pack, and they're a separate seven bucks each? That sucks.

@RMM I agree, it's a total ripoff.
BC2 gave us almost an entirely new game for $15.
This is like 40 minutes worth of stuff, just too much money for almost nothing.

I love the game, but all together, that doesn't sound like $21 in additional content. Thoughts?

@Adam Dorsey

I got bored with the game really quickly, even for an arcade racer, which surprised me. For $21 I can buy a used game that holds my attention better. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad game, but it was so repetitious and the environments so similar, that it felt mundane after a couple hours. Most arcade racers have more varied tracks and objectives to keep your interest. This kinda fell a bit flat.

@Shockwave I completely agree with you, it's a great game but you can get tired of it quickly, there's not enough variety of challenges on the SP to keep you interest for a long time, for 21 bucks you could get Split/Second or Blur, or if you have a good PC you could get NFS MW Black Edition, which in my opinion is still the best NFS game to date.

I'm pretty sure I'm alone on this but I don't like this game very much. The basic driving just isn't very fun. It seems to dabble in arcade and simulation handling while excelling in nothing.

Wake me up when Burnout 4 is made.

confused too, I'm sure the Xbox 360 version sold more and having to go to the Marketplace to download just alienates people since you have to be on the same version to play with each other.

@kcswanko

why is it confusing, and what do the sales figures have to do with it?

MS has a limit on the size of the automatic updates, this exceeds the limit.

And there will almost certainly be a link within the game to access the content from the market place. Same thing was done with bad company 2.

Anyone else feel that free-roam cop chases should have been there at launch?..

Sincerely,

Disappointed.

Once upon a time...

For the love of Jesus don't start the whole "it should have been on the disk, stop raping your customers" argument.

DLC is a prominent part of the business model this generation and isn't going away.

If they put everything on the disk at launch and then don't release DLC then people complain that the game isn't supported yet as soon as they release DLC the same people start screaming that "it should have been on the disk".

Reviews for games pretty much always go up in time for you to know what your paying for. The online modes were covered in all the reviews i read prior to purchasing it. If you didn't think it was enough to justify the price, then you shouldn't have bought it.

The End.

Even through the DLC I don't think you'd get what you want. Are you thinking of driving around the single player game in free-roam and having cops give chase?

From the press release "The first pack, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit: Armed and Dangerous, contains two all-new game modes that expand and extend the spectacular online experience."

I believe these are new online multilayer modes, unfortunately. I want that mode from NFS Most Wanted where I just drive all over with cops trying to take me down.

Yeah, I'm sure it's just for online. This game is such a disappointment when it comes to single player. It's still a great game, but it could have been better when compared to older Hot Pursuit games.

@Juelz345

I wasn't complaining about DLC itself. The game is called "Hot Pursuit", I mean I expected the game to have a free roam mode right off the bat like the older Hot Pursuit games.

I purchase DLC all the time, so calm down would ya.

And here we go taking all of our money after paying 60 dollars for the game. If we dont get the dlc than there are faster cars than what we have so it becomes unfair online play.

So in your opinion, the developers shouldn't support their games with premium dlc?

@Juelz345

Im not saying that. What it is is like we pay 60 dollars for a game and than within a month or so they release dlc. The super sports pack came out relatively soon after the november release. And now in feb less than 3 months after the game has been released they are saying there are 3 more dlc packs. So now it would be like 32 dollars in dlc plus the 60 dollar game. Too much money for me but i will pick up that lamborghini pack.

How did you get it for free it was 7 dollars for the super sports pack. The 3 cars were free part of the download for the 1 million views of the need for speed trailer.

I'll certainly be picking up the first pack, but i'm not too fused about the additional cars. Unless they are by far superior to the current cars and it becomes a disadvantage online without them.

Agreed. The packs I get that you pay for them, but for online modes???????? Gives those for free and you get people playing the game more.

More online play = less used copies on shelf

EA you dumb morons!!!!!!

Dear people who think everything should be on this disc to begin with:

If the developers put everything on the disc, THE GAME WOULD NEVER SHIP.

They have to make decisions/cuts to be able to get the game out the door.

That just gets us playing online. It isn't like cerberus network from ME2 where you would get free content. The reason they gave you free content was because there was no online play.

The new gametypes look awesome. Will get those for sure. Might get one of the car packs but adding a extra $21 to the game in three weeks seems ridiculous. Maybe I'll put it down if I really wanna get back into this game.

and this is why i was worried about getting the game on release date. i normally wait anywhere from 6 months to a year after a game is released to get it (with exceptions for sports games), but i was really excited for NFS HP, so i got it for $40 when it came out. i've subsequently beaten the game, and have already moved on to others, but i do absolutely love the game. i just know now, that after another 6 months or next november, there will be a "super" NFS HP with all the DLC released for like $30. I should've just waited for that. arghh

@ravissimo i've wanted to play red dead redemption as well, but haven't bought it, again for the same DLC reason. I'll wait til it's all in one, like the new GTA IV Complete set. I wish I waited for that as well... DLC PISSES ME OFF!
