Google is, apparently, a wonderful
place to work, but its products have rarely afforded video game developers an opportunity to work for the company. Well, until now
YouTube is seeking to build a "next generation game-console-based TV experience with YouTube video content," and is seeking programmers with "deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and/or Nintendo Wii." Given the everyday stories of layoffs
in our industry, there will be no dearth of qualified applicants.
Google currently offers a functional, but not particularly optimized, experience for Wii and PS3 via the consoles' internet browsers called YouTube XL
(pictured above). Think you can make something better than this?
