Had a video game on the SNES, action figures, and a prime time slot. I would say it's as 'obscure' as SWAT kats.

@Diemer Mine too. I loved that show and even played the messy videogame that came afterwards.

@Troy Powers A lot of jokes could be told about your age if you think SWAT Kats was obscure.

Am I the only one that always wanted to know the rest of the story and whether they were able to collect all the treasures and save the world from the dark water? It was so lame that it never got finished due to missing airdates and high production costs. ;_;

@Poor Tom I know right? I'd love to see someone pick up the license and complete the story in ether video game or comic form.

this will fill the void of a pirate RPG that could have been filled by Armada of the Damned

@bargaingamer That it was too good?

Anyway, this news is fantastic. PB opened up a thread asking players what they wanted in Risen 2 a LONG time ago, and the island idea was something pushed by a lot of members. It feels like we helped make the game... I love PB.

They're not making Dead Island, Techland is. They're the dudes behind Call of Juarez.

Thankfully I'll be playing the PC version and don't have to worry about the limitations of a console.

I'm a bit baffled that the game actually sold well enough to make a sequel. The controls were awful and felt like something out of the 90s.

@Cleric I rented the 360 version. It shouldn't have been that hard to have a camera/control scheme that wasn't awful and clunky.

Well Risen was the most PC to console port ever. I don't think PB even did it, and if they did they have little to no experience with the 360

In otherwords, Risen is a PC game. Kind of like Tropico 3.

I love PB. Risen and the first two Gothic titles are great. I'll definitely buy this one on day one.

And to the post above, it did feel like an RPG from the '90s, which is why it's better than any of the RPG titles out there today.

Ever since PB got kicked in the nuts by JoWooD, I've been awaiting PB's comeback with Risen. The first one was alright, let's hope Risen 2 will make me love it, like I loved G1 :D
