Can never trust a developer these days that their limited editions will be truly limited. Lame.

@Anticrawl I will never, EVER, trust them again on that. When they said that they were only printing 10% of what they did for Halo 3, and certain stores were selling out before release, I jumped on it thinking it was my only option. I'm not going to fall for that one ever again, I've learned my lesson.

There are still stacks (I literally mean multiple stacks several feet tall) of these things at the Best Buy I go to.

Bungie is the only offender on that. I'll never trust them again on their claim of limited editions.

That's because Duke does what he says.

Kick your ass? DONE.
Shit down your neck? DONE.
Be limited at release? DONE.

This certainly sucks. I feel pretty lame.

Why the hell did they have to lie about it though!?!?

However, I believe this is the only "Limited Edition" that I have never seen sold out. About a week after launch, I never saw a MW2 Prestige Edition ANYWHERE. And I don't think the Assassin's Creed Brotherhood LE is available anywhere either.

Most other limited editions get sold out: Mass Effect 2, Fallout 3, Dragon Age, etc

Nintendo does, it is impossible to find a Mario All Stars or the Metroid Prime collection unless you pay mark ups from specific vendors. Capcom is also legit with their limited editions.

Just keep track of which companies keep on offering an unlimited amount of limited editions, like Bungie and Rocksteady Studios. Remember, fool me once...

@EDZiLLUH

Only if you play a lot of firefight or campaign. In MP, a flaming helmet (or any other armor effect) is like wearing a big ol' sign that says "SHOOT HERE!"

I agree with the other reply. Get it only if you just want to show off or you like a lot of competition in multiplayer. My friends and I always go after the flame heads. Not because we're jealous. But because they're such an obvious target. You can see the bright flickering flames all the way across the map.

@KungFuChaosNinja THIS is exactly why I rent games more than buy and I buy when it's lower price...some call it cheap...I call it smart o_o for example Mass effect 2 I payed $60 for it...now it's $20 :~/

I paid that and now I'll never trust Bungie ever again. they claimed that Reach Legendary was literally way more limited than Halo 3 Legendary.

@JnRx - That and this are different. This was a limited edition release that was supposed to be limited in supply (making the statue collectible/rare/etc). That obviously didn't happen. Games getting cheaper (like in the case of Mass Effect) is to be expected. Limited editions sitting on shelves months after release, marked down in price to nothing, is not.

I agree. However... I DO trust Activision and Kotick a good amount :) http://stars.ign.com/objects/142/14216734.html

@HGrp I can't believe it. I must have seen everything now. I never thought the word Trust would be paired with either Activision or Kotick without the words can't, don't, or won't.

Joining with Activision in recent years is the equivalent of developer suicide. Lets hope Bungie doesn't experience that particular phenomenon.

Why? They have enjoyed it for months and months now. Most things depreciate in value over time. I hope you do not go near any used car lots anytime soon.

That's not the issue. Limited editions buyers buy because of the content and more specifically that they're in limited number to own that content making them unique and prized.

I bought it because of the content not because it is limited. The only way the product is going to be limited is if it is going to bomb. Any consumer who really thinks these products will be limited, for a popular product, is only deluding themselves.

I'm one of those people who lives in caves and doesn't have Halo Reach yet.

I wasn't planning to buy Reach until it went down in price initially (by itself to like $30 or $40), but for the price of the retail game alone getting Legendary Edition? *bought* DAMN ME, ME!

I bought the Halo 3 Legendary edition for $45 almost a year after it was released. Thats why I didn't pull the trigger on the Reach Legendary.

Now about 6 months later I get it at half price :)

Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but you think people would have learned with the Halo 3 limited edition collection which I paid under $40 for.

This is the second time Amazon is offering this deal, I picked up this LE the first time they ran this promotion which was about two months after the game was released.
