Sucks if it makes it's way over here too. Instead of limiting us on playtime they want to charge us per GB of Internet use, what's worse?

So basically this is encouraging people who are awake after 10 PM to hit the streets and commit violent crime and / or drug dealin' rather than play World of Warcraft.

I agree with your take on this.

This rule will have the opposite effect that it intends.

So putting a curfew on online games, those criminals are going to need something else to do.. hmm.. what ever could they do...?

Alright! Now without all that gaming to get in the way, I can commit my crimes shadowed by the night!

Well, instead of StarCraft, I guess I can create REAL armies and tanks to command instead of playing online.

I dunno, after about 5 minutes of dealing with the lousy jumping, push/pulling, and swinging mechanics, I feel like committing a few violent assaults.

The games are probably so wildly popular because they offer an escape from the experience of living somewhere where basic rights aren't respected. Not that there aren't plenty of violations of rights in the western world as well.. Us monkey folk have a great deal of growing up to do.

Let me get this straight... So from 10pm-8am people were in their house not committing crimes right? but now they have all the time in the world to do it... not just because the damn perfect time, but because you are taking away what makes them be in their house not committing crimes.

When asked if he would continue to mine resources in StarCraft II while everyone else's internet was shut off, Deputy Minister Le Nam Thang had no comment.

In other news, Le Nam Thang's name sounds oddly like a ghetto French person calling something "a 'Nam thing..."

Sad. I will have to say that vietnam is a great place to vist though.

5 star hotel room: $25/day
Full time maid for that room: $100/month
Room full of high class "escorts": A few 100, depending on the room.

A night out at the hottest club in town: $75-150, depending on how often you feel like "making it rain."

Some areas are pretty nice too.

Yeah Nam was definitely a fun place to travel, gorgeous scenery and everything was cheap.

This is stupid! Restricting gamers from playing at a certain time will lead to more violence! How else are they suppose to get that 7 kill-streak at 3 in the morning?

I just moved here with my wife (she's Vietnamese, I'm American). As a gamer this bothers me somewhat. Somewhat because I subscribe to a VPN in order to get USA programing online (Hulu, NetFlix, etc). I figure the VPN will help me bypass any VN internet restrictions.

If only they had net neutrality, then their ISP's wouldn't be allowed to block/throttle traffic based on port numbers and packet contents. Good thing we have that here--oh wait.
