If you're thinking about picking up a PlayStation Move controller with which to bust caps in the bottoms of your foes in SOCOM 4, Sony and Zipper Interactive have announced a pretty tight little bundle to fit your needs. It's the SOCOM 4 Full Deployment Edition, a $149.99 package which includes the game, a Move controller and Navigation controller, the "Sharp Shooter" gun attachment and a PlayStation Eye camera. The bundle will arrive on store shelves on the same day as the standalone game, April 19.
That's a pretty sweet deal -- all those components sold piecemeal would run you over $200. More importantly, think about all the time you'll save if you purchase them altogether! Seriously, searching for these items and clicking "Add to Cart" five times would take you, like, three whole minutes. Three minutes! In this fast-paced, interconnected world, that's like, seven minutes.

Ooh, that's hot.
They should've done this for Killzone 3 as well, especially considering all the rave reviews KZ3+Move has been getting.

yea that kind of burns me up that they didn't do this for Killzone 3. i literally bought all that stuff separately and it cost $180 (i already had a PSEye). with this i could have even sold the extra PSEye on eBay and recouped at least $20 to cost me $130. i see absolutely no reason they couldn't have done this for KZ3.

I picked up the sure shot and have been playing the campaign with it. It's works really really well. My only issue is during frantic encounters I don't know the attachment by heart and turning can be disorienting causing me to lose direction. I think it's an issue of being used to a regular controller and adjusting to using a motion controller.

I assumed they would have done that, and I went into Gamestop to buy it without actually checking. I was shocked when they informed me there was no bundle involving the sharpshooter at all.

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze yeah.. well it's not so unfortunately. I wanted the sharp shooter alone to see if it made it easier within another game called MAG. I even tested it on the KZ3 demo- and what an epic let down~ Sure it steadied the recital since I had both in one position, but having to turn the ENTIRE thing to look around was a bear! I've heard you can reduce the window of needed movement, but it didn't stop the other overall problem. I lift various stuff over 50 pounds a day (remember to always use your legs here!) and just holding that contraption up for 30 minutes gave me aches in Both arms! Perhaps it'll go to better use to younger ones who can Mold their bodies into the form necessary to cater to the machines needs, but to an ancient old fart like me... forget it.

i got it for my nephew and it cost me about 40ish bucks, this is at big name retail store, so if you scour the internet you may find better deals.
as for the article, i have this love for special edition big boxes, makes me equally as happy as if i bought a new console home.

the sharpshooter is pretty fun. i just finished the KZ3 campaign last night with it and it was fun from start to finish. it is a little on the weighty side though with Move inserted and lends to cramps on long sessions but nothing too bad. there is a decent sized learning curve with the camera control too. my only complaint is that you can't charge the controllers while they are in the shell but i even had fun playing with just Move by itself while charging. it has a bunch of little touches like having the triangle and square button right by your trigger finger, the move button with lock being right below the trigger, adjustable stock, pump action, and you can slap the clip to reload. it's very well made and i would recommend it. plus it should get support in Sony games at least.

I'm waiting for mine to arrive. But I've heard a lot of really good things about it. The video's they have of actual gameplay do really well. Would I use it in multi-player? Eh... Probably not. But I'm not experienced in FPS games as I don't play a lot of them, BUT! I'm definitely using it for the campaign.
Some reviews (IGN) the reviewer said he still preferred the standard DS3 over the Move, but he didn't say anything about the Sharpshooter. It was just the Move alone so, the Sharpshooter I'm sure can definitely change things up because its "Daddy's Little Helper." - Kevin Butler.

Not a bad dea. Figure $100 gets you a Move controller, the eye toy and the Sports game, so for $50 more you also get the sub controller ($30), and the plastic gun controller, and Socom 4 but lose the Sports game. If I had any interest in SOCOM I'd do this.

I agree with you, but I haven't played a socom since the original, and even then it was only twice.
Is socom really a fun game? How does it play? Is it like original ghost recon?

It's far more tactical than Gears. You're in the ballpark if you've played the original Ghost Recons.

In an attempt to keep some remaining element of what SOCOM games are supposed to be with part 4, I am not going to use the Move controller with the game.

The issue is just too much change and progress in the wrong direction.
I don't mind progress and change, but the SOCOM changes are just progressing it towards a COD clone and we already have COD.
SOCOM has always been a unique type of game and the "progress" in part 4 appears to be taking away the uniqueness.
With respect to the Move controller, I don't have anything against it, it's just just that if I'm already playing a SOCOM game that has been turned into a COD clone, to also, on top of that, be using a Move controller to play will just make me lose almost all connection to how I am used to playing SOCOM.

Is that the same rifle accessory as the one made for KZ3? I was thinking of buying one when I bought KZ3 since during the demo, my arm about wanted to fall off from holding the Move controller out towards the tv for so long.
If so, maybe I'll just pick up this bundle instead and just get KZ3 by itself.

I did eventually hold them on my lap, but it wasn't very comfortable and made it harder to judge where I was "aiming". Even when I had my Wii, for the bow and arrow sections of Zelda, I'd hold the Wiimote towards the screen like a Zapper. Call me crazy, but i can't aim from my lap...

I bought the sure shot and I sit with the controller rested in my lap. No armstrain. It's actually pretty genius design. You pump to reload, jab to melée and is configured for left and right handed. It also has a toggle switch for fully auto, burst and single shot.

GAME have a similar bundle (not in one box) for Killzone 3. Except that it costs £164.99 (roughly $265). It actually works out about £20 cheaper to buy the bits all separately from the same place.
