Uncharted 2 GOTY, God of War 3 and others become latest PS3 'Greatest Hits' for $30

Sony has promoted four of its favorites to PS3 "Greatest Hits," dropping the price of each to $30. The most significant addition to Sony's growing lineup of discounted bestsellers of yesteryear is the "Game of the Year" Edition of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, which includes a plethora of extra content not included in the original release.

God of War 3, Heavy Rain and ModNation Racers were the three other first-party titles to be made Hits. Additionally, THQ's UFC Undisputed 2010 was recognized as one of last year's best, representing the first third-party game to become part of the PS3's 2010 hall of fame class.

SCEA Adds More Exciting Titles to the PlayStation 3 "Greatest Hits" Library

February 25, 2011 – Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA) today announced five new games will be added to the "Greatest Hits" library. Available at major retailers in the United States and Canada for $29.99 (MSRP), these new additions join the 47 others, which have surpassed an impressive sales threshold and represent the highest caliber of quality software available only on the PS3 system.

The latest titles to be deemed "Greatest Hits" include:

*God of War® III
*Heavy Rain
*ModNation™ Racers
*UFC® Undisputed™ 2010
*UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves™ - GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION

The "Greatest Hits" line continues to showcase the platform's best-selling titles. With fan favorites such as God of War III, Heavy Rain and ModNation Racers, which has surpassed more than 2 million user-generated creations (e.g. Tracks, Mods and Karts), the "Greatest Hits" line once again delivers incredible value to PlayStation 3 owners.

Heavy Rain was well worth the $60 when I picked it up last february. And hot damn, Uncharted 2 regular edition was worth the $60 at launch, but $30 for the GOTY edition? There really is NO excuse now not to have this game. Heck, I'll probably be buying a second copy when I get my second PS3 for downstairs.

@(Unverified) Heavy Rain was well worth its Original MSRP, let alone this discount! Step Off~ when they made it compatible with the ARCH I got an even better fun time~

@thisredengine It has a terrible plot-hole ridden story, awful acting, bad controls, and laughable dialog. I will say it did a good job with a vastly branching storyline and intense quick-time events, but that's about it.

Damn, and I just bought GOW3. First the Killzone 3 bundle right after I got a PS3, now this. My timing is terrible, apparently. Guess I should be less worried about not being able to find a copy of Heavy Rain thus far, though.

Wal-Mart dropped the price to $29.97 a couple weeks ago. I was thrilled when I saw it 10 dollars cheaper NEW than it was used at Gamestop.

Sweet, I can finally pick Heavy Rain up for cheap.

I'll be picking up Heavy Rain and God of War III very very soon then.

I agree i thought Joystiq had a article on UFC 2010 not selling very well ( i could be wrong about this but i thought in the article the company was blaming some games or something for it not selling very well )

Did they ever fix the load times in ModNation? If not, no dice.

They have improved with a patch.
Go for it, loading times are not as bad as people made them sound.

Yeah it seems like loading time problems are always exaggerated in reviews and on message boards. I guess some people really have to be entertained every second.

@FriedConsole The load times are pretty bad IMO, not as bad as Midnight Club PSP but it really should not take so long to go from one area to another to a race.

God of War 3 was an awesome game. Hope they make part 4.

personally i like the color red. now that ridiculous looking tag in the corner of the new boxes that indicates what games are "move compatible" is completely unnecessary and also quite shitty looking.

Congratulations To Heavy Rain. when i picked up the game on release day.... Gamestop only had enough for pre-orders and i thought it was stupid that they could order alittle extra more but here's what they told me for the reason they didn't order more then the pre-ordered ones.

" well we only ordered the amount pre-ordered cause the game is not a Blockbuster title and it's a Niche title "

yea and well look where it is today ! GREATEST HITS !!!!! up yours Gamestop ! you should order at least 10 copies for " off the shelf Buy " incase people did NOT pre-order it ( i remember the pre-order amount was low like really low like ( 10 - 20 games )

Also a big congrats to Mod Nation Racers ! i own it but still have yet too play it, but i love what you can do with the game i love games where you can create stuff and upload it for others to Either 1. Download and use it or 2. Play with

i'm kinda shocked that Sly Cooper Collection never made it too $29.99 yet or greatest Hits !

Well, I think it's a little early to expect the Sly Cooper Collection to have been inducted in to the Greatest Hits line-up. Considering the newest games to be featured came out in the first half of last year, expecting a title which was released three months ago to be GH may be a little pre-emptive.

I am a little surprised that big sellers like Modern Warfare 2, Bioshock 2 or Sony's own MLB10: The Show have yet to make the cut.

I enjoyed Heavy Rain. I highly recommend it at this price. Damn good story, lots of surprises and wake me ups in gameplay, and least we forget.....Jayson!

All great titles. Haven't tried Modnation yet, this seems to be a good chance.

I have all these games except UFC. There all worth $30. I don't regret paying $60 for them.

Sony's blog post originally posted an image of Heavy Rain "Director's Cut" as the the GH version, presumably the US version of the European "Move Edition" (Built in Move support, and DLC included). But now apparently the GH version will now be the same product that is being sold now. This is disappointing.

That God of War III really goes well with the Greatest Hits red case.

Good, NOW I will buy those. Being a patient gamer does pay off...eventually.

ModNation Racers was a "hit"? I liked the demo, but I thought it got slaughtered by all the other games which came out at that time?

amazing games such as these real speak for themselves w.o the red banner. even if you didnt have the money to buy the game, atleast rent it.

FYI Starting this Sunday Best Buy is having buy 2 get 1 free on all PS3 greatest hits titles. Coincidence?

Uncharted 2, GOW3 and Heavy Rain are hands down the best games that's ever made. At this price, everyone should be running out and buy it if you havent already got them.
