Difference between Microsoft and Sony:

Microsoft product get hacked (Kinect) - Microsoft supports the hack and releases open source drivers!

Sony product get hacked (PS3) - Sony sues the homebrew devs and confiscates their equipment!

Guess which company is no longer getting any more of my money.

@Spike941
Big problem with this is that Kinect hacking doesn't open the door for piracy, which means Microsoft doesn't lose money on this. So...you're wrong.

@Mach2 It doesn't change the fact that they are taking the wrong approach. Hackers are always going to be a step ahead of Sony and will plague them to the end of days.

MS learned this in the years 1983 - circa 2008. The best thing that could ever happen to MS is Sony eagerly accepting the role of corporate bad guy. Which is exactly what they have done to the people capable of doing damage.

@Spike941
The Sony product hack involves a bunch of shitty Linux obsessed assholes who hold the world hostage any time their operating system is barred from being placed on any electronic device.

@Jovrick And that's why you don't bar them. Because they are more powerful than you.

Seems like SoftKinetic might be having a rethink on their licenses. The removed the linked page and now all that remains is fee-paying licenses for selected development partners.

If anyone finds an academic licence download link please hit me up!
