I have loved this game since its inception. Played it twice, spoken to the devs and it is being developed in my hometown.

I will open my wallet for this.

Unfortunately, it won't be on launch, since I'm getting a gaming PC soon and I think this would be best suited for that platform.

Yeah, close to the town centre. It's a bit strange because I found that out after I became a huge fan of the game. Everything about it speaks to me, and what I want from shooters.

The customization unlocking process needs to be fixed though, I can see a lot of people getting annoyed by that.

"Brink is Enemy Territory 3"

Well, suddenly I care a whole lot less about this game. Great game for it's time, has not held up well in recent outings, too many games this year, I think I'll skip this one.

What a stupid reason to be less interested in a game.

At the risk of being downvoted...
I don't think it's a stupid reason at all, too many good games coming out this year, can't buy them all.

I liked Enemy territory, but the FPS landscape has changed too much for me to want to go back to playing it again.

too many good games is a good reason. but just because they up and decided to randomly include brink in the enemy territory line up is. I personally never made any connections between the two until now so it's kind of silly.

I wouldn't call that being an ass. Bullshit aside...in the time it takes someone to reply to his question he could have easily looked it up on Google.

Looks like a lot of really awesome ideas and a lot of potential.

But I still can't get past those weird horse faces. :\

Me too.

I just hope this game can find the community it deserves.
I think Wolf:ET had one of the best online shooter communities of all time (errr, except maybe after Tribes).

I just hope enough cool people find this game, and it isn't pushed aside for not being another CoD (which I think it is obviously better for it NOT to be).

Yeah,I was interested until Splash Damage kept pushing back the release date.As we have learn(Alan Wake,FF13,MGS4,etc)all titles don't do well as it should by revising the release date.No matter what accuse developers/publishers gives(polishing,extra maps, tweaks,etc),its definitely an risk their taking.

'The team did design some female models, but after considering how much work it would be to not just build strong female characters but the animations and options to go along with them, Splash Damage decided to stick with just one gender. "Do we regret it?" asked Ham. "Yes."'

probable translation: our caricature art style made for some heinous-looking female models not worth sinking any more time into.

Still disappointed that the character creator doesn't allow for female characters. I don't see the point of giving us the option to toy around creating characters if they aren't going to give us all the options. All the same, it looks like a good game, and I've been looking forward to it. I'll give it a go, but I wish they'd change their position on this.

I can't wait to play this game. It looks more interesting every time I see more gameplay. I wonder how long the game is if you play by yourself and/or with teammates.

Looking forward to playing this and LA Noire on May 17!

I am pretty sure that they aren't using id-tech 5. Just like Skyrim isn't using it, though I wish they would in both of those games.

Dear Splash Damage,

I pre-ordered this months ago even though there are no playable female characters. You can make up for it by having plot-relevant gay characters either playable or as part of your squad. Make it happen :)

@matthargett

i'm all for gay rights, but why force the subject matter into a game that probably won't have any romantic interests whatsoever (hetero or homo)? for a game like The Sims or Dragon Age or *insert any choice-based RPG here*, i can definitely understand why a dev would incorporate homosexuality into the story in a tactful way, but from what i've seen on this so far, this isn't that type of game.

As a girl gamer I'm actually happy they realized their female character designs would be too much work/not good enough and just didn't go ahead with it. I laughed in a sad way when I saw that interview with Tanya Jessen where she talks about how they tried to create a 'strong female character, who looked independent and free of stereotypes etc' only to end up with the epitome of a videogame hot chick (at least on the outside).
I don't mind 'Dude Island' at all, in fact Gears of War 2 is my favorite game, so to me their decision was way better than having them waste their time trying to create strong female characters only to end up with annoyingly stereotypical hot chicks.

I could have sworn this was originally going to have a big open sort of world that told this epic story; and now it's a team based shooter. What the hell happened!?

@Shinchi

It has always been a team-based shooter. You must be thinking of another game.

I find it funny that they've only just now publicly called it "Enemy Territory 3"---I've been calling it that since day one.
And in my opinion, it's better for it. A better class-based team objective game, there is not.
I just hope there are still gamers out there who can play this type of game. I feel like CoD has liquefied gamers' brains into mush.

I've been excited about this game since its announcement. I have a hard time getting into class-based shooters but the SMART system and style of the game just keeps drawing my interest back. The only FPS I spend time ranking up in is Reach, all others I just play for the campaign (just don't have the time to sink into ranking up in multiple FPS's) but I've been wanting a different FPS experience to kinda dig into. Maybe this will be that game.
