Good news. I've not regretted signing up for my plus membership. Stacking for free on release is my favorite deal thus far. I'll be trying this game out for sure.

@akmdpc I agree. I can see my value on PSN+ as I don't "need" anything I get with it. With Xbox Live, at this point, I cannot see my value. I am told my value by xbox live fans who try and justify the cost, but it doesn't justify the price or the cost.
Now to be fair, anything we've gotten for free on PSN+ we will lose, so I am almost more excited for significant price discounts for PSN+ then I am free games...but most of those games I can't see myself going back to anyway...Seriously, Stacking? Loved the game through and through, but I 100% the game with my wife so I doubt I'd ever go back to it.
At this point, I would say we have gotten well over $100 worth of stuff for that price. Now, if Sony can just give us some add on features (which we will get cloud saves soon).

Speaking of the losing things we get on PSN+, are they lost forever? That is, if I'm a plus member and I let my subscription run out I lose it. But then if I renew it in a couple months, do I get it back? Is it lost so long as you're not a plus member or is it a once it's gone it's gone. Cause the latter would be shitty.

if you allow your membership to lapse, you will lose the ability to play any games that were GIVEN to you for free. But once you start it up again, you get them all back... i'm not sure if you can re-download them or not, but i allowed my membership to lapse for a month and they were all playable again once i renewed.
also on the subject: I was VERY weary of subscribing to PS+ (hence the 3 month trial), but once I realized how fast these free games, discounts and stuff add up, i was hooked on the service.
and most surprisingly the games getting the most play time are the free minis they've been handing out. They're great for the PSP, and i would have never of thought of downloading them if it weren't for PS+
oh ya, Stacking, Lead and Gold and a few others are great as well.
aaaaand.... auto download of patches = awesome.

Is it bad that I don't care about Minis mostly because they don't have trophies? I'll admit there have been a couple good ones, but I skip over 90% of them that come out for PS+.

i'd like them better if they had hd graphics in the same vein that iphone games look better on ipad. do it sony! until then, i skip the free minis from psplus.

@sserschens You skip free minis? Even if I don't plan to play them I download them anyway and copy to my PSP, just in case. I mean, they are free, so why not?

It is bad that you skip the minis cuz there's not trophies, but i do the same thing. Even worse, I have a lot of really good wii games (madworld, new super mario bros wii, trauma center games, etc) that I just can't bring myself to plug in because there is no trophy/achievement to them.
Trophies and achievements have ruined me

Good. I loved the game on my iphone, but honestly I think 99% of games on the iphone that require using fake controls on screen suck...plain and simple. Glad I can play this with a real controller and not pay anything for it.

I agree with you 110%, the touchscreen controls does not do justice for this game.

This actually looks like a pretty solid little game.
Since buying a PS3 I've been wondering whether or not PS+ is worth it.

@SummerElk I had the extra money a while back and went for it. 15 months is the deal now for $50. It's very worth it.
I've gotten some good sales on games I would have otherwise bought, the auto-download feature for patches is great (I think this is PSN+ only, correct me if I'm wrong) and I've gotten a lot of games for free that I would have paid for... a few PSX games, Wipeout, Stacking, etc. They go away if you stop paying, but I honestly see no reason to stop.
I'd suggest it to anyone with a PS3, honestly.

of course it's great for those that JUST got a PS3, but it's also great for those that have had a PS3 for a long time as well, I've had a PS3 since launch and still find great value in the service.
and i'm just about to break my own rule of not posting 3 times in 1 article... 3 posts... Ah Ha Ha Ha!

@Chris DPSN AggieCEO XBLThe Aggi I'm seeing this a lot, but do you actually plan on using it? I can't think of the last time I was at a friends house and thought 'Damn, I sure wish I had my single-player save here'.

i'm sure there a lot of people that would love cloud saves (myself included). I have 3 different PS3s in 3 different locations (home, studio and brothers), and it's pretty annoying having to carry flash drives around, or even worse, when you can't even transfer your save games at all.

Sony updates the PSN store on Tuesday nights. Usually closer to midnight than anything else.
It'll be on there, just not quite yet.
