A note for the pubs: June 7 is the start of E3. If I were a potential customer to buy Shadow of the Damned, and if I'm a gamer who keeps up with the industry news, I might be a tad busy-- maybe a bit too busy to buy that game.

Oh, and high five to you, Mr. Yoon. Clever question at the end.

Surprised to be seeing either of these so soon, especially having seen almost nothing of either one. The games are coming fast and loose now!

umm...wait what? aren't these games geared towards similar audiences? why release them so soon to compete with each other?

and why release shadow of the damned on the same day as Infamous 2 and during E3 week? A new IP performs best when it is the most high profile launch of the week and the retail/online stores can feature it and the media can give its review premium placement on the site and it is the main topic of blogs and podcasts. It's just going to get lost in that week. Didn't EA learn from their mistake of launching Mirror's Edge the same day as Call of Duty: World at War?

There's a difference between releasing a new game on the same day as a multiplatform game, as releasing a new game on the same day as an exclusive.

Sure there are a lot of people who own both consoles, but a single platform game isn't going to have the same effect as a multi.

@This Little Man Says His Name Is
Certainly, I agree that there is a difference, especially bc Sony lets reviews of their games go up weeks in advance to build buzz, giving Shadow of the Damned an opening (as what happened with Killzone and Bulletstorm). But the coverage of E3 will push this game down the priority list. But Infamous 2 will get the premium placement on retail shelves in the PS3 section.

Woah! I guess they are trying to avoid the holiday season. I'll buy both of these for sure!
