I would be surprised if anyone was still playing Star Trek D.A.C. It's a fun little game, but it only has three modes, and a handful of maps. Single player survival is fun by itself, tho.

I am still a little disappointed that phasers are autofired. I get to play, and it's like "What? I don't even get to fire my own phasers? I only have control over photon torpedoes?"

Considering each mode only has like 1 or 2 maps, they wear out, quickly.

I think the Burnout Paradise DLC is on sale too, everything is 400 except Big Surf Island which is 560.

On this list, I got 1989 on release and Re-Shelled for 160 on Black Friday. Might pick up PoP though caus I forgot to get it whilst it was on DotW.

@Ample Salty pretty sure Big Surf was 1200 originally.. for 560 it might be worth picking up

No trucks in "digitial" although "digital" might be a different story.

Anyone have thoughts on Turtles in Time? The SNES version was one of my favorites as a kid, but this one didn't review so hot.

It's not so hot. If you love the SNES version this one will just make you sad.

I got it for 160 points during black Friday and came to the conclusion that the money would have been better spent on a doughnut. Save your money.

Not XBLA, but Amnesia: The Dark Descent is on sale on Steam for 9.99 right now. Get it.

I've been interested in that for a while, but a little hesitant. I have Penumbra, but haven't played it much because the interface and controls are clunky and distracting. Does it play the same?

Nah, it's pretty smoothed out. You spend most of your time running like hell scared for your life anyway....

Warning: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled is possibly the worst remake of anything ever.

It was a huge waste of money. I knew it was going to be bad as soon as I started the game up and they got rid of the classic awesome theme song.

Don't get Re-Shelled.

I beg of you.

Pirate the original or something.

Just don't buy Re-shelled.

Thank you everyone for disabusing me of the notion that Turtles in Time would be worth it. (the time)

Still looking at Prince of Persia Classic.

Microsoft needs to get more Steam like in their sales, $5 off Toy soldiers is not enough to make me jump in. Make the game 400 points and I'll through caution to the wind.

I thought that the second I saw this on the spotlight on monday. I may grasp D.A.C. though. There's free dlc (with achievements) for it so that's not bad for 5 clams.

@bigE I would have paid 20 for Toy Soldiers. Arguably the best arcade game of last year. If you aren't willing to pay 10 they don't need your business.

$5 off toy soldiers is a great deal. The game is worth the full 1200 points.
So any savings at all are a plus.

Turtles in Time RS isn't THAT bad... it's just not that great, either. The audio is the only really lame thing about it, I think. $5 is reasonable.

You will be VERY disappointed, however, if you're expecting any of the extra features from the Super Nintendo version of Turtles in Time - why they didn't include them, I wish I knew.

Joystiq people: Should I keep playing Toy Soldiers? I finished the Allies missions and have unlocked Axis, but found that it seemed as though I had to spend too much time in tanks once they were introduced.

Does it continue like this or am I doing it wrong?

From what I remember, tanks are overpowered. But once they're introduced, I think it's meant for you to be in them when you're not working on upgrading towers. So i'm pretty sure you're doing it right.

The tanks are there to help you out / give you something to do while towers are upgrading / waiting for money to upgrade.

If you really want to go 100% no lives lost, or want to succeed on the harder difficulties then they progressively become more of a necessity on the harder levels. But just playing it "normally" on normal doesn't require their use to win.

I still need to take advantage of the sale on PacMan this week, which means I'll need to grab a points card when I leave work tomorrow. I was planning on using the remainder on Shadow Complex, but Toy Soldiers looks really good. Thoughts?

@EvilCartographer

Buy 2 points cards and get both! But I'd say Toy Soldiers at $10 is slightly better than Shadow Complex at $15. But if you're not all that fond of tower defense, go for Shadow Complex.

In case you haven't played the original in years, like I hadn't, Re-shelled sucks. I bought it the last time it was on sale, I wish refunds were an option.
